Thoughts? Care?
Idk.
good hands, kinda meh as of recent

Except for a few glimpses last year, he really wasn't that effective. I like his blocking ability, but as a receiver, I'll take our young guys.
-
I feel the same way as of now obviously, but i remember him as a huge play maker, i guess everyone has their time
either way i dont think i saw pitt dropping him. -
Probably gonna sign with New England, they could really use a veteran WR not named Ocho Cinco.
MikeHoncho likes this. -
As reported by espn, mike Wallace will get tendered not franchised this year... I wont lie mike Wallace would be the best possible wideout that we could put across from Marshall, burner with hands who can get open downfield anytime
-
He's way past his prime.
-
People better not start with HOF talk. No way he should be in the HOF. Good career, good tough player, but let him go off into the pasture. Retire in Black and Gold Hines and enjoy your retirement...
-
Most overrated player in my lifetime. Commentators acted like he was the only WR in the history of the NFL to throw a block.
-
-
And let me say this, his blocking is so damn overrated it is sickening. All that glorified blocks were cheap shots that alot of players are fined for. since he is Hines and the Steelers he is "tough" not a "cheap shot artist" -
Hines is probably done. He lost any ability to separate from DB's late in the year. Just like aqua said he's this years mason.
As for whether he's a HOFER...you will probably get some voters who vote for him based on his career numbers and that will argue he had a point where he was great and that he maintained that excellence for a long enough period of time. A lot like baseball voters argue that longevity counts for something, I suspect that's what we will see here. He's a borderline case IMO and I wouldn't argue one way or the other. He has a solid resume though.
2x SB champ
1 SB MVP
6 - 1000 yard seasons for a franchise that typically does not throw the ball at the same clip as other teams.
More receptions than HOFER's stallworth and Swann combined.
I can see the argument for and against -
Argument AGAINST Heinz Ward in the Hall of Fame can be boiled down to one thing: Teams never had to gameplan against him. He was not a dominant player.
I stole this from somebody else:
Years in the top 5 for receiving yards: 1
Years in the top 10 for receiving yards: 3
Years in the top 5 for receptions: 2
Years in the top 10 for receptions: 4
Years in the top 5 for receiving touchdowns: 3
Years in the top 10 for receiving touchdowns: 3
Years leading the league in any major category: 0
Pro bowls: 4
1st team all pro selections in any publication: 0 -
Having better stats than Stallworth or Swann doesn't say much to be honest.
-
He would offer us nothing at this point, not even worth wasting someone's time looking.
-
-
-
My thoughts:
Its about time.
Care?
Nope. We dont need him. He's done. -
IMO the HOF should be all about impact. To be considered you have to have been considered among the top 5 at your position for some period of time. I think you should be a guy that the other team game planned or worried about. I'm not as big on longevity or numbers. I guess the best comparison is that I want my HOF to be more like the Rock and Roll HOF than the Baseball HOF.
-
I would take Hines Ward any day just my own opinion .
this hall of fame subject has me miffed how in hell can Vinny Testiverty spp ? get nominated when Kurt Warner who did more not get mentioned ?
I want to go on record and say . why in hell is Zach Thomas and Brock Marion not getting mentioned they both deserve tobe talked about getting into the HOF. -
Brock Marion?
