I liked the read option at the level that we ran it yesterday. As others have said, I think that Ryan could run more in some situations on third down when the first down is there to be had, and he throws it instead. The pass to hartline that Polamalu broke up on the sideline was a perfect example. Was it a bad or dumb pass? No, it was a great defensive play, but five yards and a first down is better than a punt. Take whats there to be had.
I would say there should be at least 5 more runs a game where he should be aware of short to midrange down and distance and have it in his head that he's gonna find a lane if his first read isn't there, I think it's a high percentage play, but someone needs to start coaching him up to be aware of threatening the defense with his arm and legs, cause it only helps his arm in the long run.
