So ive been thinking about how the fallout of this is going to impact the team and it got me thinking: OWNER Is Steven Ross forced to sell the team? If he does, does the new owner come im here and clean house top to bottom? COACH If we announced a hire last week we might be ok, but this dumpster fire will certainly set us back a few years as we might hire anyone who will take the job. And have to reset again in 3 years. Harbaugh ran back to UM with his tail between his legs. What coach will want to sign with this org knowing we are a mess with potential for league punishment and a media circus? You have to think coaches are contemplating that if Ross is forced to sell, that they may be on the hot seat after a year given the new owner didn't hire them. FREE AGENTS First off, our own free agents: Are Players that were considering resigning and hoping to stay here long term going to want to run for the hills? Are players that were Flores supporters before the firing or who believe Ross wanted to tank their a year of their limited careers, going to request trades as they no longer want to be part of this organization? External free agents: who they hell is going to want to come here if they believe Ross doesn't give a crap about thier careers? If we hire a last minute unqualified coach because of this, will it deter potential talented free agents? DRAFT Will the league take our first round pick or more if they rule that we were cheating or damaging the integrity of the game? All of these things could impact our team. People here might want out, other talent wont want to come, we might lose high draft picks and with that hallowed roster we might have an inexperienced unqualified coach to try to steer the ship and develop what's left. Hopefully that wouldn't all compound at once. What do you guys think are realistic impacts that will happen after these recent events? Interested to hear what you think.
