Screw that he is the head coach and should be held accountable. Besides that he was BP's puppet. I'm surprised he has been here this long.
Well the fact that smiley, grove and thomas artent starting on any other team says the decision to gut the interior oline was correct. As for henne they had to play him and hope he would improve as the season wore on. He didn't. They tried to switch and pennington injured himself on the first play
Oh man. If I still had photoshop I'd so put Sparano fist pumping a field goal in Porky's place in that pic.
The longer it goes the safer Tony is. After watching that game today...one would think emotions will be running high.
Well then obviously they chose the wrong guys and failed to prioritize during the draft. I don't hold anything against Odrick, because he was injured but clearly our defense was ok without him. First round pick should have been spent on offense, clearly. Before we bother debating any further, do you place any blame whatsoever for the failures of our offense and team on the coaches or Jeff Ireland? As I said I don't mind anyone making an argument for continuity, but I've never once in the past few weeks seen you acknowledge any failures on the part of the coaches. If you're not willing to do that, then this discussion is futile.
Mistakes on the player acquisition side are the maon culprit Mistakes were obviously made but all of them understandable under the circumstances They deserve their fourth and final contract year to fix those areas they left unresolved when we were concentrating on defense
I think for the most part, Ireland has given this coaching staff some good pieces. Sparano should know, being an offensive line coach, that they need time to gel. He was rotating them in and out all season. Wrong, wrong, wrong.
You also have to consider. If Sparano goes then are the HC candidates we target actually WANT to come to Miami? Other teams might be a better suit, have better players, finances and base to start coaching. Are we a team that will tempt the best HC's available?
Well, that and free agency. After a team wins a Super Bowl, the greed in players come out. Caring more about the bank account than the legacy of their team, they leave a championship team for some scrub team because they open up their checkbook.
it worked for two years before they broke down. i think we forget the offensive line we had before that. i may be wrong but i believe we only have ten players left from the 2007 team. thats over 40 new players in three years. you cant expect all of them to be perfect
Damn. At this rate, we're all going to be wrong. Really getting fed up with the waiting game. I wasn't expecting to know who our coach would be by now, but at least know the fate of Tony Sparano.
Sorry for bumping my old thread, but to update the correct answer was 11 months, 10 days. So long coach. Thanks for the memories.
