Its 5 am and I can't sleep, I was thinking about all my favorite teams that I have seen win a championship
Pro Baseball:
New York Yankees: 5x World Series Championships; 1996, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2009
Favorite was probably 2000 or 2009. I remember being scared that if the Yankees lost Met fans would hold it over our head for years to come, and 2009 was because I was older and growing up I expected the Yankees to win, and after not winning for so long, it was a good one to watch
Pro Football:
Miami Dolphins: 0 Championships
Out of all my favorite teams, the Dolphins haves been the worst teams for me.
Pro Hockey:
Colorado Avalanche: 1 Championship; 2001
I know they also won in 96, but I was not a fan of them until 97/98. I loved Patrick Roy, Joe Sakic, Peter Forsberg growing up. I remember watching game 7 like yesterday. By myself watching Joe Sakic hand the stanley cup to Ray Borque
Pro Basketball:
Chicago Bulls: 1996, 1997, 1998
I was a huge Bulls fan growing up, not into the NBA anymore but growing up I loved MJ, Pippen, Rodmen.
College:
North Carolina Tar Heels: 2 Championships 2005, 2009
UNLV: 0 National Championships but did see them a MW Championship so 1
Overall I had a good sports history, mainly because of the Yankees, but I need the Dolphins to make it satisfying
11 Total.

Heat (2) marlins (2) hurricanes (I remember 1)
I'd trade all of those for the dolphins. I haven't even seen them IN a Super Bowl, let alone win one.
One day, and it'll be magnificent!!!Fin-Omenal and Jt0323 like this. -

Redsox 04 title was glorious. I love the Dolphins more , but it's going to be hard to top that championship. Drama and storylines for days...McLovin likes this. -
Just two HEAT championships.
Don't care for baseball, and I wasn't in to UM football untill '05 or so. -
I'm a diehard Phins and Tar Heels fan. Of those, the Heels are the only team I've seen win a championship. They've won 3 in my lifetime, I remember watching 2 of them.
Watching Jason Williams get a championship with the Heat was great. I loved watching the Bulls win the championships in the 90's as well. But I was just a fan of those teams, not a die hard.
I would trade those Heels championships for a Phins SB win though. -

Mets 1, Marlins 2, Heat 2, UM 5.
So 10. -
For the last ten years I've just listed myself as a Heels and Phins fan, but I did follow other sports and just lost interest as I got older. First sport I ever got into as a fan was baseball, picked up the Braves as I was starting T-ball in kindergarten. So I did get to see the 1995 World Series title, but my favorite player and first ever sports idol was David Justice and once they traded him I was pissed. At age ten it's all emotions, you don't care about all the "it's a business" stuff, least I didn't. I was also a fan of the race car driver Mark Martin and the poor guy just never could get that title. I live close enough I could ride a bike to Richard Childress Racing so everyone was Earnhardt and was annoying dealing with him winning.
But yeah, the UNC Championships are nice and I'll appreciate them, but a Dolphins Superbowl is that holy grail.byroan likes this. -
Dolphins: 0
UCF: 0
Gators: 0 (I hated them prior to being accepted in 2011)
Marlins: 2
Panthers: 0
Dr. Phillips High School: Countless State runner-ups in Basketball and Football, but none-the-less 0.
Magic: 0 (I didn't get into basketball prior to moving to Orlando, so the Heat were my second favorite team, but since everyone jumped on their bandwagon I can't root for them, unfortunately.) -
Phins -0
Knicks -0
Mariners -0
Ohio State football/basketball -1
I lead a sad sports life. -
Colorado Dolfan ...dirty drownin' man?
Celtics- 4 witnessed, 6 in my life
Avalanche- 2
Red Sox- 2
Dolphins- 0 witnessed, 2 in my life... -
Dolphins, Mets, Flyers.
A big fat goose egg for me.
Only the Flyers made it to the championship game/series and lost to the Blackhawks in 2010.
Flyers also made it to the Cup in 1997 but that was before I really got into them.
Mets made the World Series in 2000 but that was still at a time when I was a fan of players more than an actual team in baseball. -
Jeez Fin-O, I thought I was all over the map with my teams. At least my teams are all on the east coast and 2 play within an hour or so from eachother.
-
In 30 years, I have 1 championship:
Atlanta Braves = 1; several championship losses
Portland Trailblazers = 0; 2 championship losses
Miami Dolphins = ugh
Indiana Hoosiers = 0; 1 championship loss -
Heat - 2
Marlins - 2
Dolphins - 0
Panthers - 0
Noles - 2 -

The three teams I really care for are Dolphins/Yankees/avs so there's 6 between them that I saw

Red Sox: 2
Dolphins: 0
Bucks: 0
Whalers/Thrashers: -2
Uconn: 3
I was thinking the other day that no matter what my favorites teams do the rest of the way nothing will top 2004 Red Sox. Comeback from greatest closer ever win game in extra's, comeback again win in 14, bloody sock game, blowout at Yankee Stadium the house that Ruth built. When your team is down 3-0 in a baseball series, it's not over anymore. 2004 Sox will live in history for a longtime. -

I never picked my team because they won. Look at you, you picked your team to. Yankees and bulls really skewed how many I actually saw.

I'm a fan of the Dolphins, Heat and Gators(football and basketball). I was a Canes fan growing up as well, but not so much now. While I know I watched the '72 and '73 SBs I can't honestly say I remember them or how I felt. I do recall the three Heat championships, the three Gator football championships and the two Gator basketball championships. I also recall the UM championship in '83. I really can't say I was Canes' fan for their other championships. But that '83 championship is the only one I witnessed in person (rather than on tv). I also can't honestly say I was a Marlin's fan. I rooted for them the year they won it and had even followed them through the season, but I was casual baseball fan at best.
