When I was a kid living in Western New York and we had one of those old school huge satellites out in the back yard, I still couldn't get the Dolphins games unless they were playing the Bills or Jets or on prime time. More weekends than not, I had to just resign myself to the fact I couldn't watch the Dolphins. This was before even the bars could get all the games. Even when they did eventually get them, I wasn't old enough to go to bars and my parents sure weren't going to take me. Which meant I had to watch the Bills game and watch the scores flash by. No internet at all. Had to wait for Sportscenter to see the highlights. This might make me sound like an old man, but it wasn't all that long ago. Amazing how far we've come in a pretty short period of time. As much as I love always being able to see the Dolphins nowadays either in a bar or with Sunday Ticket, it's amazing how much you appreciated them being on TV when it wasn't a guaranteed thing.

I can remember waiting for the newspaper to read about our draft picks, and taking as Gospel what the sports writers wrote. I only knew about college stars, and little else, back then. Now, I'm looking at players not even drafted, and know about them.

Back then, I could care less about a player's salary, none of my business, and could care less. Now, I look at the salary cap, contract terms, bonuses, and how to fit FA's under the cap.

It has been a very crazy ride to be a fan.
