Hunter Long was taken at 81.
Eichenberg was taken 42nd after trading up 10 spots for the cost of their 2022 3rd round pick.
I know we haven't played a real game yet, but with Eichenberg injured, piling up on TE's with Long and ignoring other OL talent later on, this is going to look really stupid if it doesn't work out.
I would rather have seem them taken Eichenberg and another OL prospect in the 3rd, instead of Long. We needed starters AND depth, and have had tons of depth at TE/WR.
Or else, not trade up for Eichenberg, take him if there, or else focus the others.
When will Miami get the OL sorted? It's maybe the most frustrating thing with this whole team.
And yes, coaching is vital. Let's hope they've figured that out too....mlb1399 likes this. -
It's too late to worry about draft position after a selection has been made; and remember, success in the NFL is not guaranteed at any position. This is most obvious at QB but valid for all positions.

I didn't have anywhere else to drop this and it has to be seen. This engaged more endorphins than Thanksgiving dinner.

In high school, we used to run a WR screen where the WR would catch the ball, take a quick step to the sidelines and then run towards the center of the field. If it's run correctly, the CB turns to the sidelines to cut off the angle, then turns back inward right as the pulling guard hits him at full speed...and I was the pulling guard. I was at a dead sprint, launched myself at his chest and led with my shoulder...and OMG! He probably landed a good six feet out of bounds. It was also an epic film day the following Monday and something I'll never forget.
A lucky lineman might get three of those plays their entire career...I got that one and then a pretty epic hit on an on-side kick in college. That stuff just doesn't go away.Last edited: Aug 30, 2021M1NDCRlME and OwesOwn614 like this. -
I really wish they hadn't traded back up. WR was not the answer for this team. We needed to run the ball better, and that starts on the OL. Unfortunately, they may lose the team again. They turned on Gase quick, but from what I saw of his Jets stint. He was probably pretty weird. Either way, I'm really starting to not like who is in charge of these draft decisions.
