I don't know if he would be my first choice. I am kind of leaning towards Lil' Shula, but I guess Jackson wouldn't be a bad choice .

he's my top candidate. almost beat the broncos with aj mccarron... parker can take aj greens role. landry can be sanu. stills marvin jones. just need TE near effert lvl and it'll be like he never left cincy. oh wait or o line sucks and defense sucks. but other then that it'll be like he never left cincy. oh, the weather is leaps and bounds better...

I need to know more about Jackson. I like him initially. But is he a leader of men? I remember him being really lethargic on the sidelines with Oakland. Which doesn't mean he isn't a leader of men, I.E. Dungy, but just need to dive into him more.

For some reason I keep thinking Mike Shanahan will be the next coach of our Miami Dolphins.

There is no sure-fire candidate this year but the best combo I've heard is probably Hue Jackson as the HC with Jim Schwartz as the DC.
I still think Vic Fangio should get consideration as DC but the talk over him seems to have gone cold. The above is the best combo going though. Ironically, as bad as Tannenbaum's history is, his connections to both Jackson and Schwartz may be his most valuable aspect right now.number21 likes this. -

I'm totally fine with Jackson. Not excited, but if he's out man, then I'm good with it and support him, and will give him a chance. Much better than Philbin.

That would involve taking him away from my Tar Heels, but Gene Chizik did wonders for UNC's horrible defense. Last year they gave up an average of 39 points a game and lowered that down to 22 in Chizik's first year. However, Baylor did pound them to the tune of 600 yards rushing the other day and the defense did not adjust at all...I wonder what he would be like here as DC?

Been calling for Mike Shanahan since Philbin was canned. Guy knows how to get it done and fits us!!!

Maybe it's Ross' desire to go big. While I'm OK with Jackson or Gase or Shula, none of them deliver the big name, big headline Ross covets so desperately. -
IMO I don't think Jackson would be a good hire for HC. He is working with a stacked deck in Cincy and until I see Dalton in the playoffs I'm weary to say he is some sort of QB whisperer.
The better option would probably be Shula if he would take the job. I think a good pairing for OC would be Kevin Wilson of IU which I know sounds a bit left field, but the guy has Oklahoma pedigree and he is developing all-American offensive line talent at a basketball school. Not only that but he got one RB drafted high last year in Tevin Coleman who went to Atlanta and the kid they have this year who shredded many big ten opponents.
As far as DC someone suggested Zach Thomas. That could be interesting don't know if he can coach though.dolphin25 likes this. -
Hue Jackson, Adam Gase, Jim Mora Jr., Mike Shula, and Chip Kelly are my five top choices.

I don't get the Hue Jackson thing. Watched their last game ran on 1st down almost every time. I kept thinking now is time for a play action. Finally late in the game they ran one and threw a bubble screen out of it. WTH? no thanks.
