Just the younger guys from a football only standpoint...Andrew Luck..Russell Wilson..Matt Stafford..Colin Kaepernick..joe Flacco..Ben Rothlisberger..Eli manning..Matt Ryan..
No one is sleeping on the Panthers. They are a really good team and have a ton of talent. But I'm not going to act like we don't have a chance. When we're clicking we are a pretty good team too. As for the direction this thread has gone? Personally, I love when opposing fans come here to talk during the week leading up to a game against one another. I also enjoy friendly ribbing and friendly trash talk. But don't come here and troll.
To be fair, Cam Newton is better than Kaepernick, far better Rothlisberger, manning, are getting old and inconsistent Ryan and Flacco may be more polished passers but Cam is not far behind with far more upside Stafford and Cam are on the same level for me. Wilson and Luck are more polished but Cam has the higher upside. Cam is a qb I would take over everyone (not Brees, P manning, Rodgers, Brady) except Luck and Wilson
Trolling? So basically asking for respect of our team is trolling?????????? I have nothing more to say, you shall see Sunday
Kaepernick is overrated and he is a big time douche. Cam may be douchey too but at least he is turning into a real good QB.
Their running game is not elite, they aren't a great running team with the backs, short yardage is where they are better and cams runs make their running game better... Their most dangerous back is Tolbert on short yardage plays.. Williams has enough speed to out run players but getting to the second level has been an issue...
I think the phins could be real dangerous if they can strike some balance with Lamar Miller and co and get the ball down field to Wallace. Panthers secondary is a weak link
No problem. Enjoy it here. You guys got a real good team. Defend away, just don't think this will be an easy game for you
I'll show class when you and spellchecker stop pretending your here for legitimate football conversation..
I made my list based on what qbs I would take right now over newton.. Newton in is an athlete, a big part of the game is upstairs, so telling me his upside is better than the guys I listed is you thinking athletic upside is the same as Qb upside. I mean he's in the top 10 minus the big four..I think that's pretty good.
Hopefully the panthers take the Dolphins as lightly as their fans do...also surprised Mr. kuchley doesn't have "Banned" under his name yet since he brings nothing to the table as far as intelligent football discussion.
Nobody, is counting the Dolphins out, like I said in another thread they lost three close games that would of put the dolphins at 8-2 right now.
The thing is, Cam is starting to finally realize how to play the qb position. Going through his progressions, making changes at the LOS to put the offense in a favorable position, pre snap reads. Combined with the fact he is the most physically talented qb in the league
Not with Riverboat Ron The phins are a dangerous team, same goes for the bucs. talent and playmakers on both sides of the ball
Kap has a better career passer rating, better TD to int ratio, been to a Super Bowl.almost won that sh&$.. It's a good match-up but I'll take Kap if I'm in a foxhole. Luck and Wilson have more upside.
San Fran vs Panthers game Cam went through his progression, did not display the indecisiveness that Kaep did. Kaep has also played with a better team on both sides of the ball up until this year. I go with Cam every time twice on Sundays There is also a difference between polish and upside Luck and Wilson are more polished, Cam has more upside If you gave Luck, Wilson and Cam Tom Brady's Brain, who would be able to do the most with it?
He's got the best physical dimensions, size, power, real good escapability, but when you can't harness your mechanics under pressure, your gonna run into problems..he literally couldn't get his feet and arm synchronized in that fourth quarter. It's an interesting dilemma for myself because I've wanted a dual threat Qb for a long time, so I'm interested to see how far a guy with athletic ability like this can carry a team, I think it can be a critical element in winning football games, however, I don't believe in his intangibles, and I think his accuracy is suspect, so I'm not sure that he's balanced enough to go all the way.
Only time will tell, thats why as a Panthers fan, I view this game as an either bigger test than the Patriots for 2 reasons 1. How do we respond and stay motivated against good competition 2. How Cam handles a defense that is coming for him every play He has gotten better with the mechanics under fire, but it is all about consistency. He is developing a dangerous deep ball as well. He needs to stop over throwing those short and intermediate routes. I also didn't like that decision in the 4th to throw it in to double coverage. If you make that throw, put it towards the sidelines The only dual threat qb I have faith in to succeed in the NFL is Cam, Kaep and RG3 will be wash outs if they don't take their 1 read and run game to the next level.
Kaepernick's resume and important numbers speak for themselves, he lead his team to a Super Bowl and did a lot individually to make that happen. I don't want Brady's brain in luck or Wilson, their both elite qbs right now..if you want to switch out cams brain I would understand.
Brady as a Phd level combined with 14 yeras of experience dealing with comprehension of the game and its nuances Wilson and Luck have just finished their dissertations and are ready to graduate Cam is on his last semester Brady is on a whole other level than Wilson or Luck How is Kaep doing this year???? http://www.nfl.com/stats/headtohead...Two=Colin+Kaepernick&playerThree=&playerFour= Cam trumps him in practically every major category except interceptions which Cam only has one more
I was going to post my opinion of the Panthers since they're my home team and I've watched almost every game for the past 5+ years, but I see that this is no longer about the OP anymore. It's a shame that almost every thread on this forum gets hijacked for silly arguments that have nothing to do with the Dolphins.
My point is I don't need to trade anyones brains for Luck or Wilson..I'm fine with both and I love their brains quite frankly lol..once again, you can make an argument for newton in that sense, but not with luck or Wilson..I think their mental/intangibles upside is just as good as anyone.. I believe in Kaps game, all young qbs will have their ebb and flows, just like your boy did, bottom line, we know what Kapernick can do with a full arsenal of weapons and schematics under serious pressure, I'm pretty sure Harbaugh is protecting the Qb from the read option until the playoffs begin.
that doesn't make any sense, he lead his team to a Super Bowl in his 2nd year..the move was justified.
Of course, but based on what Cam can potential provide, I wouldn't trade him for anyone either The read option is going dead, the NFL has said that the qb is a "football" player and can get hit You have to really mix and match it for it to be used effectively
I have a love/hate relationship with PFF...b/c sometimes there findings lack context. The more you do something also greatly benefits you in their grades. So if your defense plays more reps....you actually can grade out higher than a D that gets off the field with less plays. if you look at breakdowns of sack %, pressure per snap, etc...Carolina is better than both.
What fourth quarter were you watching? His drive was impeccable. Also, in the third quarter they brought up a stat in which both quarterbacks did not throw an incomplete pass.
the read option will evolve.. I'm happy for you that you would keep your teams Qb over the guys that I've mentioned..doesn't mean it's the right move.. I'm not sure you would find the majority who would take newton over Luck and Wilson, or Any of the guys I mentioned.
