So I'm in a 16 TEAM LEAGUE, PPR. My current roster before the trade: QB: Chad Henne bye: 5 WR: Marques Colston bye: 10 WR: Anquan Boldin bye: 8 WR: Brandon Lloyd bye: 9 RB: Maurice Jones-Drew bye: 9 RB: Ryan Torain bye: 9 TE: Zach Miller bye: 10 K: Matt Prater bye: 9 BENCH: RB Marshawn Lynch, RB Justin Forsett, WR Michael Crabtree, TE Aaron Hernandez, WR Michael Jenkins I am currently 3-3, started 0-3, 3 straight wins now...so why trade right? The trade that was already accepted and pending now (completed) is as follows: Players giving away: Maurice Jones-Drew, Marques Colston, Michael Crabtree, Marshawn Lynch Players acquired: Brandon Marshall, Ronnie Brown, Cedric Benson, Steve Johnson All of the players acquired have been on their bye week already while Lynch is the only one that has had a bye that I'm giving away. Ronnie Brown is now my backup back and I'll probably look to ship him after a big game. Thoughts please?
Ummm dont do that! I love Marshall you love Marshall but ur giving up MJD and Lynch who frankly are better fantasy options than our boy Ronnie. Crabtree is starting to emerge aswell, do not do that deal imo.
you guys both didn't even look at the bye week comparison's. and all 4 of my players (minus crabtree) are garbage this year. jones-drew has only 1 good week out of 6. and now that garrard is hurt, i don't expect anything better from him. colston is a waste in that offense now. lynch still may back up forsett, forsett was much more productive last week. crabtree is getting better, probably the only one i didn't want to send.
I think the bye week thing is pretty incoincidental. That being said I think the trade value is pretty even. But your only QB is Henne? I know it's 16 teams, but I'd of def tried to upgrade there first.
For 16 teams, I'd think Henne is just as efficient fantasy-wise as any other middle tier QB. I'd like to think that my team will be fairly stacked considering. And like I said, I have every intention of trading ronnie brown.
Idk I def wouldn't want RB, BM, and Henne on the same team. No guarantee you'll get much of anything for RB either, imo.
it's amusing, the only people who say don't make this trade are on these forums.... I'm getting Ronnie Brown as a bench player in place of Lynch. I'm getting Marshall because Colston blows and will continue to with the amount of targets Brees has. I'm getting Benson to replace Jones-Drew because it's almost certain he will not come anywhere near his previous year totals. I'm getting Steve Johnson in place of Crabtree for a bench WR spot. Woo, Crabtree is better, ok....but he's on my bench. Forget I brought this up, saying it's a bad trade for me with literally no logic other than "they did good last year or the last 2 years" is terrible. AND I'd consider my team to be quite STACKED minus my QB (who is fine) for a 16 team league.
lol Don't get pissy bc you asked a question and people's answers don't match what you think. I also wouldn't consider Henne mid-level tier when he's currently 18th in points for QBs.
32 teams.... so you need to be exactly at 16th rank to be considered mid-level? I got aggravated, and you can troll all you'd like, because I didn't receive any opinion that explained why they thought what they thought. But it's cool, trade's done, thanks.
lol Actually you did, but you chose to ignore it. The 32 teams thing would be correct if there were 32 teams in your fantasy league. Seeing as how there are 16 and Henne is 18th, not so much.
Oh I understand that for sure, I just think he gets me enough points each week to not be worried about it. If I had a stronger QB, I'd welcome it open arms. I was going to trade for one, but now im thinking of holding on to Brown as a just incase for the playoffs. We go against buffalo and detroit in weeks 15 and 16.
I couldnt justify this deal on multiple levels. For starters, first and foremost, I know MJD has started slow but all points are not created equal. RB's that are not in some kind of real platoon/time share situation are limited to maybe 10-12 total and you have two of them. Thats a great situation. That you just dont give up. Secondly in regard to Brown vs Lynch...I love Ronnie Brown, hes my favorite player. But if his injuries do not burn you in a fantasy league, his time share will. Lynch is in a time share as well, and has much less injury history. Thirdly, The Beast is awesome but Colston is a reliable bet for 65-70 catches/1000-1150 yards. The Beast will be about 200-300 yards more, with around the same amount of TDs and catches. Unless the league is weighted super heavy in receptions, the difference there does not justify this deal. You picked MJD above Marshall (I assume) for a reason. You compare the best players in a deal in addition to comparing the players who play the same position. Lastly, I dont care how many points Steve Johnson has, he plays Baltimore this wek so his production just went to poop for this week. Additionally, Crabtree missed much of camp and their OC was fired. Since their OC was fired and his hammy healed the last two weeks he is producing like he should be. Stay with Crabtree. Stay with the team you have and look to upgrade to a premier QB in my opinion or find a receiver needy team and look to upgrade on Crabtree with a 2-1 type deal if you really want to upgrade wr
