Wayne is a generous owner..and thats where the compliments of his running this organization end.

Wayne hasn't been one to use the hook too quickly. He gave Wannstedt one to two more years than even the more reasonable fans would have given him. Shula was a bit different because Shula wasn't his guy.

While I am all too happy to debate who should be hired IF Cam isn't our coach after this year, I fully expect him to get at least the bulk of the 2008 season to sink or swim before a change is made. That's just Wayne.

as much as I'd like to see a new face on the sidelines, you have to consider the fact that this is the most decimated any team may have ever been injury wise. I can see that being reasoning enough for WH to keep Cameron around, considering his past loyalty.

Oh God listen to you guys. Miami has not been as bad as the Bengals, Cards and Lions of the past. I cant believe what im hearing, Cam should have one more year, blah , blah, blah.

Cam should get fired! He sucks and has not proven jack. Have some pride and testicular furtitude for your team. Cam has beem worst the Saban and the Stache put together. At this point I would take either of the two clowns cause atleast they use to win.....

I think that when you have conviction enough to hire a man to coach your team, you are making at minimum a two year commitment. One year is not enough to measure performance, even when it's obviously bad. It's about more than that, though. It's about the type of coaches and assistants you can attract if you become the George Steinbrenner of football. It's not a good path to go down, particularly when there is some chance Cam might turn things around next year. Cam was never my guy (I think my support was behind Rivera and then Gailey last year), but that doesn't really matter. I think everyone gets 2 years if you want to run a quality organization.

With that said, my comments in this thread are about what I fully expect Wayne to do, not what I would have him do. I expect Wayne to give Mueller another year as well, but I strongly disagree with him doing that. I think Randy Mueller is the most culpable person working for Wayne for the state of this team right now.

We go 0-16 and Cam is out, forget the 2 year experiment. Look at Art Shell last year with his 1 win, guarantee it. The Window is closing for Cam, I hope he gets fired. Huizenga gives Cam one more year and Dolphin Stadium is gonna look like it does when the Marlins are playing, remember. Wayne wants to do something to help this organization go out and hire Pioli, give him a big contract. Then get yourself an up and comer and let Pioli be part of the process.

Teams that have parted ways with a coach after one year, 1997 to present:

    1) Atlanta -- Petrino -- 2007
    2) Oakland -- Shell -- 2006
    3) Oakland -- Bugel -- 1997
    4) Washington -- Schottenheimer -- 2001
    5) NY Jets -- Groh -- 2000
    6) Green Bay -- Rhodes -- 1999

That's 6 times out of 11 years worth of looking at all the teams. You know what those teams all have in common? They haven't been to the Super Bowl since they fired a coach after one year. Note that not all of these coaches were fired. I don't think this list of 5 teams is the list Miami aspires to be on. It may be Wayne messed up hiring Cam, but there is no evidence I have seen that firing him prematurely will do anything to improve the situation.

Man, we currently might be on the list for worst team ever, we might as well be on that one too. Tell me one thing Cam has sown you to have him back next year. It starts from the last preseason game where he decided to give the other coaches a shot at coaching the team. Then he start using Ronnie on KR, remember that. The first two games of the season Ronnie is not used, and Jesse see most of the bulk. Goes for it on 4th downs instead of assuring himself with points, Starts a Rookie QuarteBack, becuase of the pressure he felt from the fans. Camron is a joke.....

I wonder if our players are contracting the Falcon players and saying: "well how did you do it?"

Well, I wouldn't mind being on Green Bay's list right about now. But of course, one statistic is none of those coaches have lose all their games this deep into the season. With Cameron's lack of success as a head coach both in pros and college, I'm inclined to believe that he doesn't have what it takes to be a head coach or anything more than a coordinator. We may not go to a Super Bowl if we fire Cameron, but judging by his playcalling and personnel decisions, I don't think he will either.

Win what exactly? Did we win a SuperBowl with those clowns? Give Cameron another year to overhaul the team and let him know he has to get to .500 to keep his job. Look for coaches in 2009 if we have to, but if we dump a coach after one year, then we deserve to be losers

I dunno. If we go 0-16, I don't think many people would blame us if we fire him. It's a black mark that no coach in the history of the NFL has ever had to endure, new or old, and no matter what the situation. If we win a few games, I can see there being hope, but 0-16 means everything from top to bottom went wrong because in the age of parity, even the worst teams should be able to win one by now. And Cameron doesn't exactly have the player's backing nor the coaching history to warrant any continuance as head coach. Consider it like impeachment. After all, coaches have been fired after one year for lesser disgraces. Cam's a good coordinator, but I don't know if he has the "it" factor that makes a head coach a good one.

Groh wasn't fired, he resigned. And Herman Edwards brought the Jets stability and the playoofs during his time there.

Shell was clearly a joke. He hired an OC who had been running a bed & breakfast in New Hampshire. Al Davis then goes out and makes an inspired hire in Lane Kiffin who has taken a dreadful 2-14 team that had the worst offense I had ever seen and turned them into a running machine and doubled their win total. They will be in the playoffs in 2 years if Russell develops.

Rhodes clearly was the wrong choice for GB. He wasn't terrible but it was clear he wasn't the right guy. Mike Sherman then promptly took the same team to the playoffs 4 out of five years.

Ok, none got to the Super Bowl but the changes were clearly for the better.

And also, snyder was an idiot for firing Marty, no arguments there. MArty had a history of winning and did a great job overcoming an 0-5 start with the 'skins. Cam does not have such history.

Also, on Joe bugel, I believe Gruden replaced him and it was only circumstance that Callahan happened too be holding the keys to the car when the Raiders finally broke through to the SB. If Gruden had coached them that year they would have been there and might have won it.

Point being, your list really is meaningless when it comes to determining what the fins should do

I normally just lurk around, but this has got to be the most comical excuse not to fire a coach that I have ever seen.:lol::lol:

We have not won a SB in 20+ years, like most teams in the league, firing a coach who sucks as bad as Cam does the first year won't hurt us anymore than going 0-16..How much worse can we get from here? We are below rock bottom here.

I'm not going to go in and mention all the obvious reasons why we suck, but the bottom line is that cam should have won at the very least 1 game.

NO one, not even Jesus Christ, loses 16 games and gets a pass. Cam has built nothing. He has shown no emotion, and this is football a game you play with emotion. He looks like a robot during his press conferences and is monotone. If he would show that hes pissed off, if he would show that he cares, that hes embarrassed, then maybe I'd say let him keep the job if he manages to win 1 game. How can a guy who was booed the 1st time he talked to his fans, and who has now obviously lost the respect of his veteran players (jason taylor talks about the fins as "they" not :us") be allowed to come back.

This man is not a head coach. Head coaches know when to punt. They know when to kick field goals. They know you dont run play action on 4th down and 12. There is nothing to build from, he let the best possession receiver in the league go to the freaken pats, a team in our own division. Ronnie brown is still our leading rusher despite being out how many games, chambers is still our leading receiver despite being traded.

FIRe CAM NOW and begin cleaning up the mess that started with the stache. This is a major stripping year for us. we cut the fat and pick up actual players, that means we need a GM who knows players, Drop Mueller and pick up an ex-head coach like parcels. then pick up a coach that will light a fire under this teams *** and not bore them to sleep with his monotoned voice.

JJ you misfired on that one. That is the most illogical reasoning I've ever seen come from you. We haven't been to a Superbowl since we fired Wannstedt, haven't even made the playoffs, was that a mistake too?

If you have a bad coach you fire him, end of story. I don't understand the logic that it does more damage to a team to cut short the tenure of a bad coach than it does to prolong it.

Sounds like Wayne is setting the fan base up for a 1 more year for cam campaign saying it's unfair to judge this year off the injury's.

Which is a shame if Cam stays this franchise is set back for another 5 years and im sure our best draft in the last 5-10 years will be screwed up with friends of the family picks.

Im also tired of the emotionless players and coaches. I would not care as much about being 0-13 if I saw Cam flip out on the sideline instead of stand there like nothing is wrong.. It makes the fans crazy that they bleed for this team crying in their TV's and you act like your watching birds eat.
