my favorite pet of all time....a real big all black cat named 'Zeus' got ran over today.....i never lost a pet before.
me and him were so close, he would follow me outside and lay down when I worked out and came back in when I did.....he was so loveable and a real buddy of mine
I know he wasn't a person, and some will think he is just a pet....but he was my friend, and I love that cat.....i am real broken up right now......i hope he's in kitty heaven right now layin on the grass waiting for me to get home......

that sucks bro. I think most would understand that you become close with your pets and it sucks to have them taken from you........................

Sorry to hear it bro, I've gone through it several times myself and it never gets easier. They are like family members to many and sometimes it hits just as hard when we lose them. I know you can't replace Zeus but there are plenty of cats/kittens out there in shelters that need a home, you could always adopt one in his memory, while at the same time gaining a new little friend and saving a life.

Sorry to hear bro. Many don't realize pets are family once they enter someones household. You get closer to them.

I am sorry to hear about you loss. Pets are very much "family" and their loss is significant to those who loved them.

Sorry to hear that it sucks losing a close pet Ive lost 2.
I don't know what kind of Breed of Dog he was but he was a great dog, really a family oriented dog. One day while our family was out some kids stole our dog brought back to their house and their mom took him to the pound. We called every pound until we got one that had our dog, sadly I'm assume they put it down because my dad didn't tell us everything probably because he didn't want his kids to be depressed. God I was depressed, I loved that dog.
Had a cat for 18 years that was very much like your cat. She always wanted to be with the family, she would lay down next to the family, she was very much like a dog. Well when we left Minnesota my sister took the cat and after 4 years she went down hill. The vet said she didn't have long to live, so my sister came down with the cat and surprised me. It tore me up cause she was in such poor shape but she was happy to see me and the family again, During those 3 months she sat next to me while I played video games, movies, ect. One day when I got home from school she was dying, I was crying so much as I held her in my arms as she slowly started to fade away. God I hate going through such a ordeal.
Right now we have two cats their exotics. The one has escaped at least 12 times which one of the time she was gone for a week. She is a Savannah so those were rough times. We were lucky enough to find her everytime.
I'm sorry about your loss man I know how hard it is.SICK, Aqua4Ever04 and Celtkin like this. -
That sucks man, I cringe whenever I see a dead dog or cat on the road.
I cant say I've lost a pet like that seeing that one of my dogs is getting up there, its gonna happen eventually.SICK likes this. -

Hey man I totally understand where you're coming from with this. I never had a pet until two years ago, it took that long convincing my Dad to get one (but he is somewhat allergic to cats and dogs) and we got a cat when I was 18. Love the thing more than life itself.

Sorry Aqua I think its worst to see older pets go. Partly because you have been with them all their life and to see them go out the way they do is very sad.

Sorry to hear about the death of your pet. I've lost a special pet before and its more harsh on you than some people may think so I understand how you feel. Like others said adopt another pet that way you can save a life and balance out things. :)

My condolences. Losing a pet is really rough. They're like your children.
When I was 14 we adopted a baby Doberman. She and I had a rocky relationship, but deep down there was a lot of love. The night before she passed she kept coming to me. Unfortunately, I was driving to Gainesville, 6 hours, and I needed sleep so I scolded her.
Right when I got in the car the next morning, she passed. My eyes were red for days and even though this happened about 17 years ago, I still feel emotional. -
thanks for all the kind words guys.....i broke up pretty bad when i got home and saw his body.....i spent about an hour out back digging a real deep hole for him....its painful to dig/burry a friend of yours....cat or human....
he was so damn big....his whole body was stiff, but his belly was still soft and floppy....that cat and i were buds, he would always run inside from outdoors and go straight for the food...so fittingly we burried him with a little bowl of cat food....
heres a little side not, my wife saw everything....she said it was so sad/touching....he got hit (the back of his body) and limped real bad into the front yard, our other cat of 7 years 'Zeta' ran over to him and was nose 2 nose with him as he was meowing in pain, then he laid down, panted a little bit and passed away....Zeta rubbed up against him and laid next to him licking him....
its incredible, the love and the instincts between animals to know what to do to care for one another when they are in need....that broke me up bad when my wife told me about it.....it was real tough....
thanks so much to EVERYONE who has showed they're support....it means alot, thephins.com IS ABSOLUTLEY the best fan board around, great fans....but better people!! Thankyou!AbideN703, King Felix, dolpns13 and 10 others like this. -

wow, I'm getting choked up a bit reading all this. Very sorry for your loss. I got a kitten when I was 2 and had her for 18 years. She moved with me through 5 states. One day I came home from college and my mom said that she had passed. Taking all her things to the vet to donate was one of the hardest things I've had to do.

My god man, that's even worse.
I had once ran over a squirrel, well only it's back half of it's body. I got out and looked for it and saw it on the road as it tried it's best to crawl off the side of the road. It's back legs were obviously broken and it couldn't walk.
I felt so f'ing bad. -
