I would do such a giddy, wet myself, happy dance if this actually happened. Dez Braynt at 12 Mt. Cody at 44. That would be literally as good as a draft as we could ever, ever, hope for. Those were the names I threw out before in how I saw our draft playing out. That being said...I don't see Cody slipping into the 2nd round. I am also worried that someone like Cleveland, Oakland (we know they love WR's), or Denver could take Bryant. http://www.mynfldraft.com/NFL-Mock-Draft
Can think of a plethora of linebackers I would rather have than Cody, but I could still live with that
I wouldn't complain too much if that's how the actual draft went, but I'd prefer Hughes, Weatherspoon, or Wooten (who go later). I'd even be tempted to pick Demaryius Thomas. Talk about giving Henne some major weapons.
I am a big fan of Thomas... thinking about changing my sig for him.. lol I don't know that he is worth the 12th over all pick in the draft but I could see us trading down to the 20th or so spot and then taking him... or maybe even trading down a couple times depending on how things go.
I just watched Thomas against Clemson on tape. The recording of it was pretty crappy as it was all chopped up and came up at random times in quarters lol but from what I did see, he did a nice job blocking as usual and he ran a nice stop and go for a 70 yard touchdown IIRC. He ran about ten yards I believe, stopped and turned his head like he was ready to receive a pass and then left Chancellor in the dust. The only downside was that he got caught from behind and barely made it into the end zone.
The thing that impresses me the most about him is how physical he is down the field. He fills a role that we dont have on the roster right now and that is a guy that will make a play on the ball down the field instead of giving up on it. While I am not 100% certian I have to believe he would be very effective across the middle of the field (something else we dont have).
If he goes pro. And if he gets invited to the combine. I'd guess he runs like a 4.58. I bet he has very good splits though (as in gets to top speed quick and consistent throughout).
If that's how everything actually turns out, I think I'd rather have Spikes in the first and Damian Williams in the second.
Bryant and Cody? Wow i would freak out. We get a lot of help. Cody needs to be blocked by two ppl and can change a game. Bryant will make the whole offense better and he can take over games.
