Working as a planner in Miami I organized and participated in a lot of intense workshops called charrettes. We use them to help community members design the futures of their communities. I was project manager for Ojus, Old Cutler Road, Naranja, and the North Central area. I've written some articles for a website called the Green Door Project, www.thegreendoorproject.com and they like my writing. I've pitched doing charrettes in developing countries and the owners at Green Door were enthusiastic about it. Of course, it's going to take time to build this from the ground up, but hopefully it's a start.
