He was at the Shula's Steak Housein Troy, Michigan on Thursday night. My sister, dad, and I drove to Troy to meet him. He was scheduled to be there for a meet and greet between 6-7 P.M. We arrived at the steak house at about 5:50. I was siting with my family members, and I was wearing my white Dan Marino jersey. At 6 o'clock sharp Don walks in and I was immidietly in shock. He then, walks to were I am sitting with my family and shakes my hand (before he shakes/talks to anyone else) and says that he likes the apperal I have on. I then get in line and have him sign the items I brought: -The Dolphin Digest issue from when Don Shula won his 325 game against the Eagels (he not only signed the cover, but flipped threw every page and was reading it and talking to us) -My Marino jersey -A picture of him and his son at the Hall of Fame -A steak house post card He looks great for being 84 years old, as you will see in the picture I took with him and my family. He asked if I played football and I told him I did. I told him my stats from last year and he was impressed He said that I shoudl run track, and that I could play college ball somewhere. Just thought I'd share this with you guys
Here is the link to the picture. http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/ind...6830989&imageUserID=320165080&imageID=7847681 It won't let me copy and paste it so if the link doesn't work, if anyone wants to see it you can explain to me how to post it.
This Shula's is attached to the hotel called the Marriot so it wasn't held inside the actual resturant. That's why we didn't have to dress up to meet him.
You're so lucky to have met "The Don". I would love to meet him. Hey! why don't you guys throw me and him a joint birthday party this Jan. 4th?
A combined party for two. You honestly think me and the Don would have any kind of illegal party???? We're getting up in years, we can't take the excitement anymore. LOL
