You and I are always telling each other we are wrong, so this won't be any different: You're wrong. There is plenty you can do, and that is be the strong, loving, husband your wife needs. That is not an insignificant amount of power, you are not helpless, you are her hero. There's not much i can do, but if at any point you need to vent, a pep talk or even a verbal punching bag, just say the word. Good luck, bro, you and your family are in my thoughts.

Thanks to all of you for the thoughts and prayers and positive vibes. I could not possibly mention all of you, but you are all in my thoughts, and you all know who you are. The most recent news is that the tumor is a Fibroid Tumor, not malignant at this point. However, her doctor doesn't think this is the cause of her pain, so more tests to come. He has her on some medication to see if it cures the problem, which to this point, is not working. She is probably going to wind up having a hysterectomy, or another newer type of surgery for the problems, but we'll see what happens. I appreciate all the emails, pm's and phone calls, and appreciate each and everyone of you. Your thoughts and prayers have helped me deal with this. Sorry I haven't been here much, but with all of this, and working, and going to church, my days are pretty well consumed, but you are all in my thoughts daily. Mike

Thanks to Fin Fan in Cali for giving me a heads up on this. I rarely visit this forum so I am very sorry I missed your request back in March. You have just gotten generally good news. Fibroids are removable and benign. The doctor will want to take it out immediately because they can be very painful due to the pressure the mass puts on other structures in the abdomain. While no surgery is fun, a hysterectomy is a well established procedure with a very, very high sucess rate. I am sure all of us will be praying for the surgeon and for good results. I am glad to hear you are remaining active in your congregation. I hope and pray they are being supportive of you both. You certainly need to feel the love at this terrible time. Hey Mike, I'm glad to hear you have received some better news then first thought. Everyone here is pulling for you and your family. My wife had to have a hysterectomy when she was only 29 years old. The medical technology today is amazing and I hope if she does need one, you will have faith in the outcome. Keep your chin up and know we are here for you.

Calphin, when my wife was pregnant with our first child, they discovered a mass on her thyroid gland at her first OBGYN appointment. they were unable to operate until she was past 20 weeks of her pregnancy for fear of hurting my now 9 year old daughter. thankfully things turned out well. so i know what you are feeling right now. i recall the feelings and emotions vividly. that helpless feeling gnawing at the pit of your stomach is not a good feeling. it was worse than when i was diagnosed with cancer 2 years later. your wife needs to know you are okay right now, because believe it or not, she is as worried about you as you are about her. so be strong for her, and tell her how you feel. i am not going to tell you that it is going to get a whole lot better until the doctors give you more details. but i know you have the strength to be there for your wife. and that you will, in whatever way she needs you to be. when you need to vent, do it, to friends, or to us here, we'll be here for you. Godspeed to you and yours, our prayers are with you!

my wife was in the hospital recently and I had no idea if I would ever have her back fortunately things worked out fine for us All I can say is stay strong for her and yourself. Your strength and smile will help her through this, and have faith that the prayers do work
