I am not sure if this is the proper place for this post so admin please feel free to move it.
Today my father died after a long battle with health issues. This man introduced me to the Miami Dolphins and built me into the fan I am today. My dad was born and raised in Maine, in the 50's when he married my mother they moved to Florida to start a new life. In Florida they raised 5 kids including myself. My father was a huge Baltimore Colt fan because he liked the way Don Shula coached, but when Miami hired Shula he became a Dolphin fan even to his last breath. We now live in Maine but every time the phins were on tv I would go over and watch the games together, heck we both would even grip and complain about Ted Ginns bad playing together. I just want you to know the Dolphins lost a great fan today, but the tradition lives on in the family. We are having him cremated with his favorite Dolphin blanket and hat. I know none of you knew him but I was proud to call him dad. I remember in the 70's my dad bringing me to the Orange bowl to watch our team, heck one year for my birthday he brought me to a charity basketball game it was the Dolphins verses the Rams. I want to thank you for reading my post, may God welcome into His house.

    Wonderful post.

I know that sounds odd given the circumstances, but the father-son bond warms the heart.

    My condolences for your loss.

I'm sure it will be hard at first but keep your head high and he'll be even more proud of his son from above!

The best way to keep his memories alive will be to keep living life the way he taught you and to pass those values on to your kids and their friends.

Thanks for sharing, it sucks to lose someone you love.

So sorry to hear about your dad bro. You shared a special bond that will live on. Whenever you watch the games, he won't be sitting next to you physically, but he will be there in spirit. Make sure to save him a seat.

I am very sorry for your loss of what sounds like a fun, intelligent, caring, father.

My Father was the reason i got into football also, and my grandfather and him were also Phin fans, so this story hits home. While the is no consolation for losing such a great person in your life , i ask ya please to think about how it will feel as you watch every Phins game. HE WILL BE THERE WITH YA FOREVER IN THOSE MOMENTS.

My Condolences! Just putting up this thread shows your admiration for him and is testament to the love ya shared.

I want to thank everyone for their kind word's and well wishes. My father was an avid hat collector his bedroom wallls where filled with all kinds of hats, he had 280 hats we know of and I wouldn't be surprised if 100 of them are Dolphin hats. We will be having his funeral service on Tuesday and since I am an ordained Christian minister I will be doing the service.
Thank you for allow me to share some of his story with you all, EVERY game this year I will remember my dad and our time together rooting for our team...Go Phins!!!!!!!

Your dad was a great man (He loved the Phins). Something he was proud to share with you. I'm glad you are sharing your loss with the rest of the Phin family. Spread the hurt around, we can each carry some. Remember the great times and when you watch games from this year on, you will always have him next to you.
