i posted a thread on who you would want if you fired Gase. No one answered. So I will. Go and get Harbaugh or Fischer. They both are in the crossroads in their college careers. Jimbo is a qb guru if we were to crap the bed. Ross loves Harbaugh and He has the street cred to turn this team around. Harbaugh could fix us quicker.

Yeh Fischer did great with the Rams..

we’ll see how his team responds here in 7 days... he took a bold stance, not sure I’ve seen it before but I believe it takes tremendous discipline if your going to try and win here in Miami, so I’m open to doing some things in a unconventional way...
I look at like this... if I’m not one of the guys I’m not worried... but if I am I better check myself, and if I’m not willing to do that then his approach will find players who have the right makeup for this townIrishman likes this. -
I didn't answer because I couldn't think of anyone and I didn't think Gase was getting fired. I also didn't know we could hire people who would never come here because they have better options all day long. But if we are playing fantasy land I wouldn't mind Harbaugh, sure.

I didn't answer because that nonsense started when we were 4-2. Maybe you would have better luck on the Patriots thread- they were 4-2 as well with two lousy games on offense. Belichick definitely deserves to be fired for that.
As a matter of fact, every team in the NFL has at least two losses. Every head coach should be fired for that nonsense!jdallen1222 and Irishman like this. -
Harbaugh is overrated and has never won anything. In fact his Michigan team has regressed every year he has been there. They are no better than the 5th or 6th best team in the Big Ten this year.
Now if you are referring to his brother John and not the overrated Jim, I would have no problem with John being the next head coach if Gase is fired, which isn’t going to happen. John is a far better head coach than Jim.
As far as Jimbo Fischer is concerned. He is nothing more than a mediocre college head coach who
many of the fans at FSU would love to see fired after the terrible job he has done this season. Why you think he would be an effective HC in the NFL is beyond me?
Saban and Spurrier are and were much better college head coaches then Fischer and neither of them
were effective as NFL head coaches. Jimbo Fischer wouldn’t last more than one season in the NFL, IMO.SocaCasualuk and djphinfan like this. -
I doubt Gase will last 2 more seasons at this rate. I have a feeling that we are about to go on a losing streak. If that happens and with Gase throwing all of the blame on the players and not his BS gameplan, I’d bet that he loses that locker room. Gase’s system is the problem.

Miami and Cleveland think they are smarter than the rest of the 30 teams. Let me explain, Clev believes stockpiling picks and taking a qb with less risk than the 1st round is the way to build a team. Miami believes that offensive linemen can be purchased anywhere and there should be no qb competition. Tell me what these two teams have accomplished in the past 15 years?

That being said, he's not leaving Michigan anytime soon. Just like Gase isn't likely leaving Miami anytime soon.
As for Fischer... No idea, can't comment there, haven't paid attention, however either way, it's irrelevant because Gase isn't going to be gone this year.Irishman likes this. -
While I accept that there is a higher turnover at the college level, this high turnover doesn’t seem to affect Alabama or Ohio State.
I think Harbaugh is an okay head coach but I just don’t think he is nearly as good as some other people think he is. I would take his brother John over him as an NFL head coach any day of the week. -

Gase is in his second year. His first year was a playoff berth. This year he's on QB3, and a crap ton of key injuries, and still has more wins than losses. Why in the world would he be fired?

Or maybe you missed how 31 of the 32 teams in the NFL DON'T WIN the Super Bowl every year. That means 31 teams have fans saying they could have done better. So if you're going to ask what Miami has done lately (besides Miami's 10-6 record, being the hottest 2nd half team in the league last year and winning more 1-score contests than anyone)....there's about 30 more teams to include on that list.
As others have said, we're 4-3 with a struggling offense. The season is far from over and Gase found a way to turn everything around last season. This is not the time for baby momma drama over firing the coach and all of our starters. -

I had posted this in a previous thread. It is more of a philosophy with a few names of finding the next one.
I feel like we have officially made the same mistake twice in a row. Philbin was a genius when he worked with Aaron Rodgers, and Gase was a genius after working with Peyton Manning. I think it was painfully obvious that the truth was vastly different than it appeared. This happens all too often in the NFL. Look at every coach that landed a big time gig after working with the Patriots. Having a great QB makes anyone a genius.
I think that we need to look at coaches that are getting a lot out of a little. I remember really liking Jay Gruden as a head coaching candidate because I really did not feel like he had exceptional talent in Cincy, but was able to maximize the output of the players that he did have. Also, it seemed like offensive draft picks tended to pan out, and I thought that his player development seemed to be on solid footing.
So who are the current "Jay Grudens."
John Morton - I am awestruck by the job that he has done in New York. They really do not have a lot of talent on the offensive side of the ball, and they are getting a ton of production out of Jay Gruden.
Frank Reich - I am genuinely impressed with the growth of Carson Wentz this year. He has got a lot production out of Zach Ertz. Reich had some level of success in San Diego.
Matt Nagy - I love the Andy Reid tree. If you really think about it, Andy Reid has never had a bad quarterback. He got EXCELLENT production out McNabb, Smith, Vick, and Foles. Moreover, Doug Pederson is a shining example of an Andy Reid disciple doing well.
Jim Bob Cooter - Although he has a few run-ins with alcohol related incidents, what he has done in Detroit sine the exodus of Calvin Johnson is admirable. Aside from Stafford, he really doesn't have a super star on offense. Nevertheless, Detroit has done fairly well on offense.
I'd love to hear if you guys have any other ideas.
PS- I would love to have Harbaugh. -
