Imo, I think we've now seen how certain venues can provide crowds to feel engaged into the action, it's taken a while but the topic is talked about everywhere these days. So it's not a debate anymore..To make the transference of their energy to their players much easier because of the venue can elevate the player and their performance, and most importantly, to set the mindset of the home team before they take the field, when you know what kind of energy and noise is on your side, it is an advantage in sport..

Imo, I think this has been and will continue to be a large obstacle for this franchise..I believe the trickle down affect is negative on multiple fronts, and quite frankly I don't believe it's fair to the players and coaches that represent our franchise to have to play in sunlife stadium, not when you have other teams who are gaining an advantage..

How it affects attendance...well, because going to a game a sunlife you are not engaged unless you are a fan like me and you, a real close venue can inspire the normal fan to get into the action, sunlife will keep that normal fan in its seat, to stand and cheer is like farting in a quiet classroom, everyone looks at you like your a freak..

The right venue is about the experience of inspiring your team to play at a higher level, to directly affect the outcome of the game, and when that can happen, you will get people to want to come just to be a part of it..

Unfortunately, no matter what renovations may happen at sunlife, the top row will always be where it is relative to the field, if you had an owner that understood that there is a gold mine awaiting you by building a stadium that completely caters to the philosophy I am preaching, then a smart business man would get it built ASAP..

The money being made on the 12 th man concept is out of this world and is a beast all on its own..

No one has ever done it, build a stadium catered to being an intimidating home field advantage that is..(Seattle lucked into it) but if one of these suits ever get it, I sure as hell would live to buy some stock Into it..

To build a culture that is hardcore, profitable, and game changing, you must have the venue...

All it takes is money, and brains...OB2...a modern design of the old man, A multiplex dolphins/canes project..A rebirth of what help shape both names, cultures and franchises...it just hasn't been the same since we left huh?..a steady decline to be nice... We certainly do not have the reputation we used to have as fanbases huh?

 

coughArrowheadcough the fan base here in KC has been at peek level since the 70's regardless of the quality of the team. the whole city gets behind the Chiefs. the media, businesses and fans. it's crazy here and if you haven't experienced a game at Arrowhead you don't know what you are missing. much like the OP vid it is loud here.

I love that video. Unfathomable to think about officials urging a coach to tell fans to quiet down, but it happened.

The experience of the 12th man...hmmm, what a marketing tool to sell tickets.....dumasses..

Amazing to me that the suits don't get it and keep building their new stadiums that has everything to do with wifi inside, clubs and big screens...it's right in front of their ignorant eyes and yet it's never been done..

Give me 750 mill and I'll make you that money back on waiting lists for season tickets, merchandise, improved culture revenue, better performances at home, media publicity, exposure, and here's the kicker...it helps you win football games..

 

Steve young talking about how most places are even when it comes to home field, they can get loud but it's not that big of deal, but there are a few places where it can become debilitating...

The whole freakin pregame show is centered around their 12 the man..you wanna talk about a money making cash cow..

Russel Wilson trying to explain why he's undefeated at home, simply says if you haven't been to the link, put it in your bucket list...that's how you sell tickets for those of you who have questioned my theories on this topic and told me it doesn't matter, all that matters is putting a better product in the field...it's not just about that in our situation, yes ticket sales will go up as the wins come in, but I'm talking about a whole different animal, I'm talking about an investment, I'm talking about how you can fix a major problem for two programs, without the risk of losing money...

It's the easiest big money investment oppurtunity ever..sure thing...

 

I'm watching the Seattle game tonight. Heres the thing. Seattles fans..are PROUD to be called the 12th man. To them..they see it as competition with other teams fans. They know they give their team an advantage.

Why don't Miami fans feel that kind of pride? Why wait for your team to win..why not see if you can inspire your team to win. Why not throw it down and say we believe you will win..and we are going to collectively carry you there.

Because they have the venue, that's what it's all about, the venue gives them the tangible proof that they can make an impact..

No such thing in sunlife.

That fu&$in crowd rattled drew Bree's..damn..they just come out on fire hyped, never flat, how could you ever come out flat when every fan is in their seat when your introduced, it's just human nature to want to play hard..

 

I'm jealous. I WANT THAT IN MIAMI. I want our home field to be the worst place to play.

And we're not talking one program, were talking galvanizing two programs with one investment..

You don't think cane fans would support the idea of this, their boosters...sheeeeet...I bet they could muster up a couple hundred mill.

 

Think about it....why not create an atmosphere that is iconic all on its own. And I'm not talking like Jerryland. I wouldnt want it that big. That's the perfect size in Seattle

The ORANGE BOWL was classic. Pro player has sucked !!&* From day 1. Got to move those stands on the field in towards the game. Get rid of the baseball diamond.

 

Correct, if the goal is to create the 12 the man energy and help your team win games, you want nothing to do with Jerry world..his is a different type of spectacle that doesn't help his team.

 

It's not possible..the integrity of the structure is in place..only way to do is to gut the whole thing, and chop half of the top of the upper deck off.

 

Once the crowd knows it can make an impact on the game, the marketing will take care of itself.

It's really just an absolute smart business decision..problem is not many folks understand it for some reason.

 

Ross stood on the 50 yard line and had a lone fan in the top row shout and cheer and he heard him. The idea was to build an awning which would magnify the crowd noise. I've been pretty impressed with the noise this year more seats close to the field, retractable roof and awning protceting fans from the sun would be perfect.

 

I agree that the awning would help in a couple of different ways, very important ways, where did you hear that about Ross and the fan and the conversation talking about better crowd noise?

 

The only thing that stands between us and what you see on that video is about 15 wins by next December 2.

Then what's the answer, Deej? How do we bring that kind of fanaticism back to the fan base, if not by winning? Because Ross isn't going to tear down Sun Life and build the Orange Bowl on the footprint.

The awning is a great idea, and moving the lower deck seats closer to the field may even be feasible if they can figure out a way to pay for it all, but crowd noise doesn't score touchdowns, and you won't get the kind of energy level you see on that video without a consistent winner. South Florida is like that.

 

I get what your saying Z...your asking me how we can bring the type of fanaticism we used to have or what were seeing in Seattle?? I'm saying that we can't...because the venue is what inspires that level..certain venues engage a fan, certain venues make you a passive spectator..

Can we get better than being the worst in sport, yes, the renovations would help, the team on the field winning will always help..and as last week against Carolina showed there's a good amount if fans that are hungry.

But what I'm talking about is a different beast, I was talking about a plan to recapture what two programs used to have, and topping it..and the only way to match what we had at the orange bowl, or what Seattle is bringing to the table, is a new venue, the logic and monetary advantages behind building it imo is so sound, such a sure thing, I think if your a billionaire, you'd have to be stupid not to go for it, considering two completely different programs would be on board.

And finally, yes, crowd noise does affect games, but it has to be at a certain level, that's just as good as scoring tds..

Players are gladiators, their humans playing with emotion, the intense energy in a building will inspire that human to play at harder levels, adrenaline is a real factor in cardiac out put..

 

I think Joe Robbie believed that if he built a bigger venue that that would just bring more fans. the unfortunate truth is that in reality it created more of a separation of the fans from the players. and, in some ways lead to the problem the team has now with the media. the team is isolated from the people that follow it. this venue could be over hauled and seats reduced to resemble a more modern OB but the money needed for that you might as well build a new stadium not to mention it would take some time as well, the team would have to temporarily play someplace else. Miami needs a new stadium for both the Phins and Canes.

 

The canes are suffering even worse..it's just not right to play college ball with that programs history, in that place, it's criminal and hurting that program..

I agree on the very poor vision..to not understand the specific dynamic you had in the orange bowl and completely ignore it was a critically bad shortsighted decision..talk about going from one extreme to the other.

My whole theory is based on making money and why it makes ridiculous sense to build a new one..

The fact that they even talk about renovations to sun life tells me they don't have the vision to do what's necessary to accomplish what it is I'm talking about...it will make it better from being the worst, so that's what we'll have to settle and be happy for.

 

DJ, you need to be sending your thoughts on this to Stephen Ross and Tom Garfinkle. Not only do we need a venue that makes the fans feel more of a part of the action, but we desperately need new media policies that shows our fans the organization is embracing them.

 

When it's one person, it just sounds like a crazy fan KB.

Sometimes I write stuff in the hope that one of the beat reporters here that visit often will do a piece and bring the attention to the problem..

It's like the problem is touched on, hence them talking about moving the seats closer, however,they don't fully understand the concept of what the first venue ever built with intimacy and intimidation built right into the spec design could do for two separate programs, their pockets, their teams, and the draw itself..

It's really the ultimate high reward/no risk investment oppurtunity I've ever seen.

It's really not fair , when you think about it..whoever decides to even the battle...wins the lottery for the billionaire boys club.
