My grandma thought for some reason her email didn't work, and emailed my uncle asking if it was working. As a joke he sent an email back saying that it didn't work and he never got the message. She believed him and called a few weeks later saying it still wasn't working and she told all her friends not to email her.

My father-in-law has used a headset on his cell phone for the past year, continuing to call it his "wireless" despite the obvious wire running from the phone to his ear. So, for Christmas, we bought him an actual bluetooth headset. We thought this would go over great, and we were planning on setting it up for him to avoid any problems. Upon opening it, however, his first response was "I can't use this, it will change my phone number." We spent the next 15 minutes explaining how attaching a bluetooth has NOTHING to do with his phone number.

My mom was watching me play angry birds on my iPad, and was horrified that I was brutally murdering pigs. So I had to explain to her that the pigs were egg-thieving bastards that deserved to die. It wasn't until she saw their smug little smiles that she, too, seeked revenge for the stolen eggs. I haven't seen my iPad in a while.

I had a management professor back in college that just about every class would point the projector remote at the pull down projector screen instead of pointing it at the projector. She never understood why it wouldn't work and none of us ever told her.
