That depends on how many mistakes he's making, is he missing assignments and so forth, which is probably the reason he isn't seeing the field, or is he taking plays off like he was notorious for doing in college, I'm not sure, I haven't been watching him in particular.

 

I haven't either, but he's not a high profile player at the moment either so if no media people are asking about him then you won't hear about it, but I'm sure there is a reason why he hasn't played a lot, under Philbin I wouldn't know what the deal was but I think Cambo would be playing him if he were the better option, but like I said above I haven't been watching him in particular and since he's only played so much I can't give an opinion on how well he's doing.

He certainly has flashed on some plays though.

 

+1 He'll have the job next year, guy is super talented. Give him an offseason to get even stronger and learn and he'll be a welcomed additional next year. I'm hoping he has a bigger impact on the games as this year goes on.

No thank you. Misi's natural position is bench. To the op, there's very little we can do to the Dline for the remainder of the season. But we better find two(non under-sized) natural pass rushers this off-season or else we'll be in the same predicament next year.

 

I want to see Mosley put next to Suh and let Phillips keep his same rotational role. Obviously nothing is changing in stopping the run and Mosley is here because of Suh. So get them out there together.

 

We need speed, power and containment from the edges. Now, with Wake out just when he was getting healthy, we don't have any depth. So, basically......damn.

 

I don't for the life of me understand why you think Misi shouldn't start. He's a pretty good player.

He set the edge well on the strong side before K Coyle moved him to LB. Good aggression and strength. I've seen him lay the wood on some dudes this season. But he's a liability in pass coverage. Since he's moved to LB, I can only remember one, maybe two passes defended.

 

I don't know what K.Misi you're talking about. The one I've been watching these past seasons, based on his play, qualifies as an NFL backup. The plays he does make are few and far between. 4-3 OLB/DE or 3-4 OLB/DE it doesn't matter. So being that his protector(philbin) left the building it's "when" not if misi is cut.

 

Well that's your opinion and I guess your sticking to it. I'm not saying he is what you want him to be or the next greatest pass rusher in the world. What I'm saying is he played good assignment football. Kept runners contained in the box and helped his teammates make tackles. The position he's in now he is a liability in pass defense. He was drafted during Sparanos tenure and when he played as a 3-4 OLB or a 4-3 DE he was a solid player, not the next coming of LT, but a solid player.

 

Misi not hacking it at Mike is a big disappointment..

 

I say it year after year. Misi is just not a good linebacker. For all the talk about how good he is setting the edge, RBs routinely run right by him. He's a liability in pass coverage. He never makes plays. He's one of the worst starting LBs in the league. Along with Kelvin Sheppard.

Very simple.....We needed a thumper at MLB.....We had him in Jeff Luc,yes he needs to improve some, but Sheppard or Misi at MLB....GIVE ME A BREAK

 

I would trade Suh for daft picks I couldn't really use and 1/2 what I paid for him.

 

I'd love to see Olivier Vernon move inside on obvious passing downs. His strength is a big factor in his ability to rush inside. It often shocks OL how powerful he is. He isn't the quick twitch, big-time pass rusher on the edge, but does a very good job rushing from the interior.

Chris McCain could slide into his spot off the edge, or if he's more comfortable on the other side, Shelby has rushed from both sides before. Suh obviously at the other DT spot on passing downs.

 

I'm not sure what your argument is here. Koa Misi doesn't excel at anything, but he does everything pretty well. It's remarkable in a league where Pro Bowl guys can struggle with a shift in defensive scheme or position that he's been able to play so many different roles and quick them up so quickly at that level.

 

Koa Misi is very under appreciated. He's a solid, versatile linebacker who does a lot of the dirty work for this team that largely goes unnoticed. Of course people have varying opinions on him, it's not like he's a superstar or anything like that, but his 58 tackles this year speaks for itself.
