David Lee isn't a bad idea...
Or how about we get Norv back! I'm sure he'll be available unless the Chargers turn it on! That is his knack... I was happy with his offense! -
haha no wade phillips please. i wouldnt mind letting david lee take control for the rest of the season. if he turns it around then keep him there if not go find someone else. but i fell like were going no where with henning at the reigns.

I personally don't care who. Just someone who isn't Al Davis's twin brother

I am probally going to take heat over this, but there is a certain head coach in Denver that might not have a job next year, who was the coordinator for a record setting offense a few years back that I wouldn't mind calling the plays.......

Imagine what a coup it would be if you could get Brian Billick or Chucky to be the Offensive Coordinator. Other than that, yeah, we get it, it's an offseason waiting game as to who becomes available.

Someone said in the chat room about Lee being very 'Wanny-ball' in college so I am not so sure. I would actually like this team to be pro-active and get a highly thought of young positional coach a try instead of yet another re-tread.

Where was Lee before the NFL? Arkansas I thought...?

All I know is that if Tony Sparano won't get rid of Dan Henning, then I'm not sure I want to see Tony Sparano back next year.

i think this thread is a great representation of why we need henning to stay. with the names being bandied about all i see is our fan base wanting us to turn into the 1-7 panthers

Well Yo...Starting to want Chucky as HC and OC.

As crazy as it sounds, why not Pennington? This young team already looks at him as a coach anyways. Henne looks to him for guidance and values his tutalage. Yes Penny was a game manager when he was under center, but that was out of necessity. You can't tell me deep down inside he wouldn't love to air it out one more time, even if it is vicaroiusly through Henne. It could be the shot in the arm we need to make it fun again.

I just don't understand the Gruden love. It's like everyone buys into the "he's a wear it on his sleeve" kind of guy.
I think it's funny that you and Disgustipate are the only people who defend Henning. Everyone else agrees that it's time for him to go but you. I guess you know more than everyone else. You are the football experts.
:pity:

It's not that. It's just that the replacements given are pretty out there. If you're gonna replace him, you'd better be getting something better. I'm particularly unsure about David Lee because the only evidence anyone has to prove he'd be great at OC is usually, "I think he'd be a good OC", and "He revived the single wing formation"
Sparano did call plays in Dallas for awhile and he can certainly do it. Whether or not it would depart from what Henning does, I don't know. I do know that Henning is not the answer.
If you are looking for somw one that will screw uo the offense then you can hire me and pay me have of what he is making. Or you can pay me half of what he is making and I will do a great job you choice.
Is it your choice:shifty::shifty:
No it is not your choice:shifty::shifty:
But seriously I want to get paid:shifty::shifty:

Yes, because what we've gotten from Dallas has turned out horribly
David Lee's offense in 2007 attempted 262 passes, 625 rushes, and only one of his top 4 leading receivers was an actual wide receiver. The other three were Peyton Hillis, Felix Jones, and Darren McFadden.
I don't know why so many people are sold on Lee as a coordinator. His claim to fame is basically he had experience running and implementing a Wildcat package. He didn't even invent or even really innovate it.

No, we're not really, it's just the other ones tend to not post outside of Club Level.

I don't read that so much as people defending Henning as it is people not blaming him solely for the offensive failures. Which is correct, as Henning isn't blameless, but it's not all on him. It's just less popular to blame the players failing to execute.

I don't think anyone cares one way or another about Henning. What people do care about though, is factual argument. Saying Henning sucks doesn't really do much in terms of actually discussing the problem. Saying that we don't do x,y, or z, when its patently false, isn't going to further any debate.
did i say that? its just funny....there are 30 other teams out there....maybe those guys can play football too?
the thing is everyone, if my cat was the OC, at least when we were losing we could laugh at how funny and cute he is sitting in the booth with headphones on rather than have to look at dan henning
i hate cats.
you just threw away our friendship
