about the loss?
I think it would for me. That defense is just beastly. At least we lost to the AFC champ and not some chump playoff team...

Nope, can't stand them.
Ray Lewis and his head hunting ways, taking C. Johnson out of the game by trying to bend his torso, and for various other reasons is why I will savor PIT beating the eff out of them.
Flacco this, flacco that. He had a 50% completion percentage and everyone is praising the "rookie". Damn is he ever gonna hit a wall next season when the defense is older, and may not even be in tact with their free agents.unluckyluciano, codizzle, Ultra and 1 other person like this. -
I think it will make me feel worse. To be honest, if we play the type of game we had been playing all season i really think we win that game, therefore we could be in the spot where the ravens are. It did not happen that way though, but if they are to win next week it will hurt that much worse.

It would make me feel better knowing that we got beat by a Super Bowl team. Baltimore just plain kick our azz last week, no other way to put it.
I always go for the AFC in the Super Bowl anyways. Last year was the first time I've ever gone for the NFC, I think we all know why.hard harry, fins1, codizzle and 3 others like this. -
no cause ultimately Kerry Collins played a much better game than CP did against the same D.

I don't see getting rolled on by one team, any less disappointing than another.
As for being beaten by a team on route to their Lombardi, is in some way more honorable than getting chumped by somebody, who eventually gets chumped themselves, yes, and no, given the fact we'd end up on the final highlight reels, getting chumped by the champs repeatedly. -
congrats!unluckyluciano and Ophinerated like this. -
Pulling for San Diego or Arizona here... Would love to see Baltimore get absolutely steamrolled, as well.

Im not saying I actually like Baltimore, I actually hate them, and will be pulling for any team that plays them, and I am pulling for my second fave team (GO CHARGERS) right now, but all I am saying is that Baltimore making the Superbowl might validate that we just got beat by a REALLY good team which beat the top 3 seeds (if they play Pitt) to make the superbowl..

I want them to lose. I am happy with the way the season ended for us. The only sting for me is the thorn known as Cam.

I guess I'm alone, because the Ravens' success makes me feel more validated that we are truly on the fast track to a return to greatness.

No, I dont think it will make me feel any better at all. I strongly dislike baltimore. I always have really, so last weeks loss makes it worse.
If anything, maybe it makes things "look" a bit better that we got beat out by the team playing in the AFC championship game, and maybe the superbowl... but that doesn't make me feel better at all. It could have been us there... To not be there, is bothersome. I get your point with the post, but it just doesnt do that for me... at least i dont think it will anyways. -

Nope,
I'll feel cheated out of a good game. Lets face it they were +4 in turnovers against us and:
- only outgained us by 10 yards (286 to 276)
- we held onto the ball for 7 minutes longer than they did
- we had 18 1st downs to their 16.
That sort of offensive ineptitude does not belong in the Superbowl and I don't care that your defense is the love child of the '77 Steelers and '85 Bears.codizzle likes this. -
Why the hate for the ravens..i dont get it.. I guess people have such personal hatred for ray lewis because of his involvement in that murder..its interesting, i happen to respect the hell out of them as a foorball team.

No.
Did any of you feel better after the Buffalo playoff loses when they'd go to the SB?
Screw that.
If anything the blatant non-calls that team gets week in and week out piss me off to no end and its worse when my wife is whispering in my ear all the time like an annoying nat "with all of the money involved its fixed, I dont know why you take it so personal".
So...yeah it doesnt make me feel one bit better...if anything it makes me feel worse. -
Yes, because the perception among the media, league members and fans was that being easily handled by the Ravens in the wildcard round showed how far we were from truly being a contender. I'm sure some thought it showed we didn;t even belong in the playoffs.
If the Ravens win the Superbowl, that assertion holds far less water, imo. -

As a fan I know "why not us" goes a long way. -

I think we can all agree that man for man our team was the weakest out of any in the mix in the AFC playoffs. Not a knock but it was reality. Our team played very well to the competition we had. They did what they needed to do but that shouldn't overshadow the fact that this roster still has glaring holes. I believe there was a strong chance we'd have lost to any of the teams. So who is the "chump playoff team" that would have left us feeling bad losing to?
What the Ravens do dosen't validate anything IMO.
The season validates the steps the Dolphins made.
Some good moves in the offseason will be what makes me feel better.cnc66 likes this. -
