If the dolphins continue at this 12.1(def td does not count) offensive ppg for the rest of the season would you fire adam gase.Without looking back I would think this is the worst offensive output since the expansion year.
I personally think they will get better but will see.

I think Gase is as safe as any coach in the entire league aside for Belichick. He’s lost his starting QB, then lost his plan b who was convinced to come out of retirement, lost a bye week due to a hurricane, traveled more miles in the first 4 weeks then just about anyone else will for the entire season, had a player go awol, dealt with Ajayi’s attitude and complaining, dealt with players who are too dumb to pick up the offense after 2 years and we are still 4-3.
Bottom line is as soon as he lost his qb, he was going to be given a pass because last year most of us were talking about him as a COTY candidate. If I was the owner, Tannenbaum/Grier go on notice before Gase.Rocky Raccoon, KeyFin, btfu149 and 6 others like this. -
I think he is safe but like I have said many times, he and the front office have to have a plan, especially at qb and the line. And if there is no significant improvement next year, then heads should roll

I think if you finish the season with a bottom 3 offense, firing him has to be on the table. I wouldn't call it an automatic, but you want a coach with Gase's pedigree to produce a better result than a bottom offense. That isn't really acceptable.

a qb going down is a problem yes, but if you bring a guy in for 10 mill that guy should easily pick up the slack (unless your talking about Rodgers or an elite qb which RT is nowhere near) so therefor losing your qb is a mute point specially when Gase approved and accepted, pushed for and started cutler. so a lot of this has to be blamed on gase, just like winning and losing is put on the qb, players not understanding the playbook and play callings falls on the HC however you look at it. I don't think he will be fired he will get one more year I bet. but if it was me I would keep him and mandate he gets a better OC and give all play calling to them if he doesn't like it then make a decision to part ways.

Since the team is 4-3 and still in the playoff race. If "I" owned the team, I would probably just do whatever else it is that I do and let the season continue to play out. Knee jerk reactions rarely pay off if ever.

I would keep him. You have to take into account all the unfortunate things that happened at the start of the season. Also most coaches don't have their programs firing on all cylinders until year 3 and 4. Unless there is no plan in place to improve the team and bring in players who will match the his system, I don't see an overwhelming reason to dump Gase.
That said. I know fans are impatient and want immediate results, so I wouldn't cry over Gase getting canned if Ross feels he has someone who can do the job better.bigballa2102 likes this. -
If it continues like this he is definitely fired.
There was too much talent on this offense to start the season to justify being one of the worst offenses in the league.
I would also fire tbaum immediately the guy is an idiot. We need a GM in here who understands oline talent and is committed to getting it.
However what I would do immediately is force gase to relinquish all playcalling duties to the OC and let the QB audible. Let him focus on being a head coach and not some offensive "guru" which he is obviously not.
Also, I would implement yearlong random drug testing for all coaches and players.
I have a feeling this Foerster episode was not an Isolated incident and **** like that should not be something that happens without anybody knowing about it.dolphin25 likes this. -
If I was the owner of the worse O in the NFL, what would I be doing right now......I'd be hanging out with Chris Foerster

I do agree that Moore could have done what Cutlers done but they were kind of caught between a rock and a hard place because when Cutler was brought on they needed someone to know the offense already. Even if they let Moore start they would have still needed to add another qb unless you were going to run with Fales/Dougherty for the year.
Bottom line, nothing is going to happen to Gase based on this. It was a logical conclusion to want a player who knows your offense after a big injury hits and its already preseason. The time to learn is during the offseason.Irishman and bigballa2102 like this. -
If I was the owner, Gase would be fired.
Gase is the reason we paid Cutler 10,000,000.
Gase’s system is garbage. He claimed that Cutler knew the system but the giy clearly doesn’t. Actually, I don’t think anyone knows the system, even Gase.
TBum, the whole FO and Gase would be FIRED. I’d bring Jim Harbaugh back to the NFL; don’t care what it cost. He made it to the SB with Kap lol. Tannehill is better than Kap, just needs a offensive line. Then maybe we wouldn’t be the Ravens *****....well hopefully not a 40-0 punk.bigballa2102 likes this. -
Moore in this same offense for 4 games avg 240 yards a game, and one of them games ajayi had 200+ yards. I don't see how that means he doesn't know the offense lol, I seem to think gase did cutler a favor in this one and its all pointed to him and his horrible decision lolCanGasePlaybook likes this. -

I just looked and we literally have 92 points for that's is 60 less than anyone in the division. we have played 7 games and haven't scored 100 points I really think ajayi was the issue hands down lol and actually the offense is responsible for only 85 of those points lol

Miami needs to get back to the basics and focus on the trenches in the off season. The line has been an issue for a very long time. Most of the successful teams have great offensive lines. I doubt Emmitt Smith would have the records that he does if he was running behind a line like ours. Hell, I bet if they rush Cutler, he won’t last a game behind that crappy line. Moore was getting trashed last week. -
The players that backed up Poucey and Turnstyle both did better jobs when they came in for them.
There is also some big concerns that we have too many idiots on this team that can't figure out what they are supposed to be doing.
You know draft a guy like this....
and expect him to reach the next level....CanGasePlaybook likes this. -

No. You can't fire any coach with a winning record through 1.5 seasons, when part way into year 2, we've lost our starting QB before the season, dealt with Irma, the travel, the loss of week 1 and the bye, having to turn to Cutler because the backup on your roster isn't capable of starting the year likely. You're just not going to get players, or even coaches for that matter to come here when you're swapping them in an out every year or two. See Cleveland.
You've got to try and create some stability. When you're bringing in new coaches, and new systems, you need new talent to fit that system more often than not. Some players are capable of adapting, and fitting, but there's always key guys missing. It takes time to build the rosters into what you need to have success. You need stability to create that.
That being said... if we had the guy the coach deemed to be the starter at QB, and we're still in this same funk we have, my opinion is quite different possibly. That's hard to say though, given the fact we went to the playoffs, but I'd still be alot more concerned if this season so far had played out "normal", not the way it has.Puka-head likes this. -
Now, I have enough faith that our team will come out swinging this week and earn a W, and I still think we have a solid shot against Carolina and the Bucs as well. But if we finish the season at 8-8, losing five of the last six against three of the best teams in the league, I think there's going to be a lot of noise for us to make a change.
Personally, I have all the faith in the world in Adam Gase...I believe that he's the real deal and a long-term fixture in the NFL. But how much will the crowd noise matter down the stretch if people are already screaming for Gase to be fired at 4-3? That's the part that worries me here- will our owner listen to fans or his football experts? I would hope it's the latter.
The easy solution here would be for the offense to catch fire- this is a team that could still win out if everything clicks. So I'm very excited to see how Parker, Stills, Williams, Drake and others step up this week to support Cutler...I think it will tell the story of the season just like it did last year. -

Second, Ross seems to care greatly what fans think as well. He brought in celebrity owners, built clubs inside the stadium, and did so many other things to make Joe Robbie a destination on top of a football stadium. I guess it just worries me who has his ear at any given time.Last edited: Nov 2, 2017Irishman likes this. -

All but 1 team in the NFL has at LEAST two losses. And we are a game up til the middle of November. I don't get the fuss. Is it not pretty enough? Not enough drama? WTF over?
This team been thru some ish this year. And they are still winning! I don't know how, but why are some of you beachin about it? This may very well be one of my favorite teams in the last ten years.
I swear some of you would cry cuz your free beer wasn't poured in a frosty cold glass. Or you got a BJ when you wanted some nookie. Or you just got a new job that pays great and has awesome benefits but now you have to get up and go to work.
Coaches and players been thru it this year, and they are still ballin, and working, and trying to get better and some a ya'll just wanta whine.
Would you like some cheese and crackers? Or are your uterus's so inflamed that I need to call whine11 and get ya a waaaambulance?
