We are just halfheartedly going through the motions and it shows. As I sit here watching the Jets and the Ravens play it is so obvious what we lack. There is no heart, guts, passion, or pride left on this team. We don't play with an attitude and show no signs of grit. The Chargers cheerleaders could have beaten us today. We haven't played with heart since our opening game - when we got it ripped out of us. Moral is at an all time low. Sparano shouldn't make it past the bye week. He might but shouldn't.
If you were TS how would you fix this??

I would start using drugs and then call the league and hopefully get suspended.

If I were Tony, I'd resign. He's basically running on a hamster wheel at this point. He can work as hard as he wants, but when you're not smart enough and can't see the forest for the trees, what's going to get fixed?

If I were Sparano I'd commit Seppuku.

Has to bench some guys, when a player is just going through the motions, you have to sit them, even if the guy behind him is not as talented.

Resign.
I hate to seem glib or be simplistic, but if Sparano really cared about the team he'd resign. He won't, because if he did he'd forfeit millions of dollars over the remainder of his contract, and if he's fired he gets to collect—so he's gonna wait to get fired. -

I watched the 2nd half with a buddy of mine. I told him to watch how giddy with excitement he gets after we kick some FG's. He said to me, it can't be that bad. After a couple of those fist pumping celebrations, he changed his tune and way dying laughing. I was left shaking my head.
Even my wife, who knows nothing about football, blurted out "You can't win football games if you don't score touchdowns". She gets it...Sparano doesn't.lohink likes this. -
On O, not so sure. This O has only been around for 9 weeks? It's still pretty new. -

Like I said before you can't ask a clown to coach. Sparano can't coach, period. He does not specialize in any areas of football, he has nothing to teach. Just an imbecile wearing headphones, fist pumping and trying to fire up his team. But he's incapable of actual coaching, of teaching players how it's suppose to be done, and of making game changing adjustments.
Just a dumbass on the sidelines. He should be in the crowd next to Dolfan Stan because all he's doing is waving his pom poms.NaboCane likes this. -

Granted, Sparano is not a great coach but when you have talented players not doing their jobs and *****ing isn't working its time to hit them where it hurts. Right in their wallets! Every time we miss a FG I'd fine the kicker $3000. Every time a DB misses a tackle I'd fine him $3000 - if that missed tackle becomes a TD I'd fine them $5000, every time our OL misses an assignment and our QB get sacked I'd fine the $3000. Then I'd donate the collected money to a local charity.
That would get their attention really quick and they'd either do their jobs or go broke.

You can bench players, you can fine players for poor performance...hell you can even try and send a signal by forfeiting a game, but the bottom line...
These are PROFESSIONAL athletes being paid MILLIONS of dollars to be professionals. If they don't possess the self discipline to perform to the level they are being paid, there's nothing Sparano can do.
When your defense has 10 of 11 returning starters...in the second year of a defensive system they've had a year to become efficient with...is expected to be one of the top 10 defenses in the league, and they're 30th in the league against the rush?? That's not coaching. That's lack of heart. If you were one of the ones that had a massive hard on when Mike Nolan was hired last year as DC, there's no reason our defense shouldn't be one of the most cohesive units in the NFL, dominating teams and shutting teams out left and right. -
Sorry I don't buy that. Sure they get paid millions but it's up to the coach to provide a gameplan, it's on the coach to make sure his players are in top condition (see the injuries and all the players sucking the oxygen out of the earth this season), and it's on the coach to make necessary adjustments. Players need to perform, but coaches line them up and discipline them to what they're suppose to do.
You would never see a Nick Saban Dolphins team out of shape. ****, felt like every game or every other game, the broadcast would comment about how ripped/cut up our defense was under Saban. Now we've had two softies since Saban in Cameran and Sparano, running soft camps where they're not breaking a sweat. Odd to me really, since I do remember when Parcells was here EVERYONE was busting their asses in the workout rooms. Our players were in top condition under Parcells.
Sparano has gone soft just to become a more likeable coach after being criticized by Ricky and others. And for going soft and being a complete idiot overall, the hell with him. He can pack his **** and go back to coaching the Cowboys' offensive line. I'm sure Romo will want him back. -
Coaching is not the reason we are losing. The reason we are losing is because our players suck. Not ONE FREAKING SINGLE player has stepped up in four weeks. ONE ****ING PLAYER? I would say Daniel Thomas, but he's barely playing.
Its ridiculous.
I would start by cutting Reshad Jones. Not benching, but cutting him. Four straight weeks, zero plays made, and never around the ball. PUT IN CHRIS CLEMONS, why is this so hard to see?padre31 likes this. -
