Would love to see Lacy slip...it would never happen though...

 

Not really worried about RB to be honest. Market is flooded with them, won't be hard to find someone at the drop of a hat.

 

I don't like Ahmad Bradshaw for this system. He'd have made sense in 2011 when we traded for Reggie Bush but I'm not so sure about 2013.

I'm not all about trading picks for a Chris Ivory.

As I've said, I really like Mike Goodson. I think his combination of pass protection skills and pass catching skills, to go along with his natural ball carrying skills especially from the shotgun, would just marry very well with what we have in Lamar Miller.

I also think even though people will probably hate the idea, you've got to take a look at Danny Woodhead as a guy that could potentially take the pressure off Lamar Miller as far as trying to make Miller into a 3rd down type of pass catching back. Right now I'd rather have Miller worry about being the primary ball carrier and yard gainer.

With either one of those guys, you could also add yourself a Lonnie Pryor via the Draft or undrafted free agency if he goes undrafted, and that would give you a nice all-around set of skills in your backfield...especially with Jonas Gray as a wildcard.

 

The RB position is the least of our problems IMO .They are readily available in FA and in the draft .

 

It shouldn't be a "worry" per se, but it is a position that needs attention. You can't just forget about it.

 

Ya im not too worried either. When the time comes, if it ever does, it shouldnt be too difficult to snag one. Solid running backs aren't exactly rare anymore.

P.S. The feeling I just got when I read "Mike Turner" :sad: I can sh** myself thinking about it. I would be so disappointed

 

I just hope this position doesn't suffer the same neglect that the #2 tight end position did for a while. It was understood that it wouldn't take much to add a little bit to that position...yet that translated into not doing much of anything for a while.

 

I think Jonas Gray could still be pretty good. He was a solid runner at ND. He's a sleeper who could turn the corner and surprise a lot of people.

 

No offense deej, but "I'm worried about the rb position" is never something anyone should say. As has been mentioned by others, the market is flooded with backs who are capable. And Lamar Miller is a great talent. He may not be proven, but all of the ability is there and there will be ample players available as insurance. I will be pretty upset if the dolphins use a high pick on that position. Although I'm pretty confident they won't.

 

I honestly don't understand this fear.

Whoever we could draft at RB would be a waaaaay bigger question mark than Miller.

We know for a fact Miller can produce against NFL talent, because he already did it last year.

 

Injury plus an injury prone back is the worry. We're talking warm bodies here.

And we know Miller can produce in spurts. We don't know if he can produce shouldering (no pun intended ... ok it was intended) the load.

Two worries:

Can he produce.
Injury backup.

#2 can be taken care of with a draft pick. #1 can't.

 

I'd kind of like to have Hillis just so we have a "pound it in there" type back. I worry more about short yardage situations than I really do the position as a whole.

 

Lonnie Pryor would be a fantastic late round pickup for spot duty.

 

Why overlook Thigpen?

 

I think we will see Miller in bushes role with Thomas then Gray spilling in.

There are just so many backs everywhere its hard to be overly concerned about the position if you are confident in Miller.

Hell I think Kevin Smith would fit perfect in pur current scheme and he has been on the couch till mid season last 2 years

 

3.5 yards a pop concerns you in this offense?

 

I would take Steven Jackson in a heart beat.

 

I think his lack of running attempts last season makes him easy to overlook.

 

Ireland and/or Parcells have pretty consistently spoken and acted as if they believe that runningback is a two-player position. I think it's pretty likely we will see some action there in the off-season.

Don't see why Ahmad Bradshaw wouldn't be a scheme fit.

 

I've said it before and I'll say it again. I think the Dolphins like Daniel Thomas much more than the fans do. I think they still think he can be a productive back. They may add someone else, but while I think most fans want to write him off, something tells me the Dolphins feel otherwise.

 

Doesn't mean he cannot fill in, Bush and Miller are two good Rb's, but, he showed he is explosive.

 

I can count the number of positions that require NO thinking on one hand: Center, Wake's Rush End Spot, Strong Safety, Longsnapper.

 

if it was me I would bring back Polite and sign Cadilac Williams and cut Daniel Thomas.

 

Wake gets into a car accident and is injured for half the season. Then what.

 

Then he's out for half the season.

 

Then you're a worse team. You can say the same for almost every team that loses one of its best players. Thats part of the game.

 

I know, but the original post is you can just write off a position because we have an all star there. I'm saying you can't. You have to line them up 3 deep. I know that's not practical but the goal is to line em up 2 deep.

You don't write off Wake's position in the draft because we have wake. One ACL tear and he's gone for the year and then what?

So you guys are ok with just crossing off all the DE's in the draft and FA on Cams side, because we have Cam? Sorry I disagree.
