...and boy, do they suck.
You know what you have to go through to get on the web in a Starbucks???!!!
It's like signing up for a ****ing porn site.
Or so I've heard. :shifty:
I can go to any indy coffee shop in my neighborhood and get on the net immediately - no hassle.
What the ****?!

Starbucks just sucks in general.
You want real coffee? Head to your local Quick Chek, 7-11, WaWa, etc.FinSane and Rocky Raccoon like this. -

When I want Starbucks I simply put ten dollars into a cup and pour cheap homemade coffee over it and throw in some whip cream. It's the same basic concept.

I'll throw in my 2 cents on coffee.
WaWa (like 711 to those not in the know) best place for drip coffee. They have columbian, kenya, flavored roasts, and my personal favorite, Kona.
Dunkin Donuts: I don't typically drink iced coffee, but when I do, its D&D all the way. Nothing else.
Starbucks: When I want a latte, cappicuno, espresso, or anything of that like, its starbucks all the way. There are plenty of good mom and pop coffee shops in philly, unfortunatley, none of them are in my vacinity.
So there you have it, my coffee prefrences.azfinfanmang, phins17, NaboCane and 1 other person like this. -

I do enjoy DD and can't beat the price. Truth is I start almost EVERY morning out with a cup of DD as that is what the serve in the Cafeteria at my new workplace....
HOWEVER, for a special treat, I will stop and overpay for a cup of Starbucks....maybe 1 day of the week... -

How do you ensure that they all taste the same? Over roast the beans.
To save money, and ensure freshness, I roast my own beans. yeah I know. but all it takes is a popcorn popper for low volumes. Then let them sit for 24 hours for gases to escape. Then grind them.
When I'm lazy, I go for some pre-roasted shops that only roast after you buy.
But when I'm on the go, I'm sorry I avoid starbucks unless absolutely necessary. I try a place's drip, espresso straight, and americano. And Sbux always leaves me underwhelmed. I currently like my local Coffee Bean. Lady swears by seattles best, but I haven't had theirs lately. peets is pretty decent actually even though all their roasts are darker. -
Dunkin Donuts(of course), McDonalds and Burger King all have better coffee than Starbucks, for much, much cheaper.

But seriously, starbucks is no longer in the position where they are so much better than everyone that they can charge such high prices.
One reason they have been struggling as of late, as places like McDs, BK and DD take away customers.FinSane likes this. -

Well, since I threw out the first question, I guess I should give my preference...
Folgers. Brewed in my lovely new coffee maker. Poured into a thermos and carried in to work with me because our coffee here is gross.
I buy the big container at BJ's-14.99 but it lasts me more than a month. Occasionally I will get a bag of Kona, but not all the time.
So there you go.dolphindebby likes this. -
Mountain Dew people! More caffeine, its cheaper, and its cold so it wakes you up quicker. Sure, its the nectar of the tards, but dammit it works better than coffee.
