I've been thinking about the past decade..all that's happened in that time and all that I want to accomplish in the next 10 years... In the past 10 years: I lived in 3 states (Minnesota, NC, and Iowa) I graduated HS I attended 2 colleges Sold my '87 El Camino Bought an '89 Ford Bronco (full sized) I was accepted into a top Architecture Program I fell in love I spent 2 weeks in China and 4 months in Italy Visited Barcelona and Paris Interned at the biggest architecture firm in the world Graduated from College Broke off a 4 year relationship Was unemployed for 7 months Got my first "real" job Scrapped the Bronco and got my first "grown up" car Rekindled that former flame In the next 10 years I hope to: Learn more Guitar Relocate to a place that I can call "home" Get my license to practice Architecture Open my own business Design for the "Other 90%" Travel to Japan and Latin America Go back to Italy Find "The One" You?
re: Cool thread. A good follow-up to mine. In the past 10 years.... Got my first computer, thanks to my grandmother. Lost my grandmother to a cruel illness shortly thereafter. Found my career path as a result of her gift. Walked away from a year-long relationship to move away and pursue it. Broke both our hearts in the process. Finally grew out of the 'scrawny kid' stage. Became better at guitar and singing (which is still quite bad). Was finally able to be proud of what I did for a living. Was once unemployed for several months. Started and worked my way into businesses. Met my 'ideal woman', and realized my ideals had changed. In the next 10 years I hope to.... Find 'the one' Have kids Achieve my present goals in business Get and stay in shape Witness the Dolphins winning multiple Super Bowls. I feel the best is still ahead for me.
Great post bro. On the simliar note, I wasn't intending to make a copy of your thread, I actually started typing this in response to yours but couldn't decide if it fit or not (me 10 years ago was really boring in HS). Feel free to merge if you wish as they're similiar. I love the guitar and singing reference..i'm going down that road myself.
In the past ten years I've moved to another country. learned a new language and greatly improved my command of another. became a teacher. became more religious. started to observe religious dietary laws. been engaged and broken it off. traveled a lot. Got a cellphone. In the next ten years I hope to Get married and have kids. Travel to different countries and help them to plan better cities. Lose a little weight. Get back to doing Tae Kwon Do. Live in peace with our neighbors.
