Kinda puts Hartline being an alternate into perspective doesn't it.

With the Pro Bowl becoming softer and softer each year, I see the addition of Incognito as a means to solving that problem.

Incognito is a great guard. Not surprising to see him make it there.

Richie is sort of a current day version of Kevin Gogan as for attitude and on field demeanor. I thought that may work against him getting votes from other team's players and coaches. Apparently not enough to keep him from making it.

Richie Incognito's second half of the season was I think pretty arguably Pro Bowl worthy. The first half was bench and/or release worthy, which makes the whole thing a bit more puzzling. It's like he got amped up for all the Reggie Bush injury **** talking and let his inner *******/potential loose.

He's been here a while and I'm still not sure how I feel about him.

I don't pretend to know a whole lot about guard play, but if it's true that he got that much better that would be pretty encouraging no, considering it was a completely different system that he had to pick up?

LMAO, This forum is really funny. If Incognito had gone to __________________________ ( pick any Bullcrap school in the State of Florida ) it would have been 3 pages of accolades. Fans have been getting down on Incognito since he entered College and all he has done since then is
1 Played for a NC Championship as a true Freshman
2 Make first team all American as a True Freshman by the sports writers of America
3 Pave way for Steven Jacksons best season as a Pro while at St. Louis
4 Come to Miami and make the Pro Bowl

LMAO, nah, the kid has done nothing. LMFAO Tell ya what. Get any Oline coach at a bar, have a few beers and I will bet everything I own he would give both his testicals for 5 Richie Incognitos on his Oline.

Congrats Richie, you deserve better then the low life S. Florida Fans.+

I wrote this during the preseason, because Cognito was an enigma for me, somethin just wasn't adding up for me in terms of the perception of the players, so I went Pff on that mother grabber.

"Been looking at some of last years games just to Iso Richie..

First off I'd like to say that the combination of Vernon Carey and Columbo were so bad that it really does give me so much optimism going into the season..Those two guys deserve to be where they are at this point, which is OUT of the league..Bums I tell ya in their final year, flat out bums.

I iso'd Richie because it just seems like he has this thing hanging over his reputation in that he is a lumbering stiff, slow player...my findings were quite the contrary.

    1) He's big, and he's strong, he anticipates the snap well, he doesn't take unnessasry steps in his back pedal before he engages, right off the snap he locks on, his anchor and base of his body is so stout its very hard for defenders to get around him, and usually once he locks on , he drives you out of the play or you basically don't get leverage on him.

    2) the misconception...Richie incognito has quickness in that body even though it looks like he's as stiff in the upper body as Channing crowder in coverage, he's not, he's got some get off, he gets off the line with some explosiveness when he knows he has to get to the 2nd level, and executes the responsibility, finds the player, and gets the job done..I just watched for mobility and quickness, and I came away impressed relative to the oerception, dude can turn, twist his upper body, and believe it or not, can run.

    3) awareness...I must of watched about 300 snaps, and he is very good at keeping his head on a swivel, can take two players out of the equation on occasion, disengages quickly off his inititial, relocks, and always finishes the play thru the whistle.

    4) I feel comfortable with him next to Jake, and I don't say that just because he's safe, no, he's consistent, he's strong, he's aggressive, he can stop a player in his tracks, has a good punch, and has mobility and quickness that he doesn't get credit for, he's a good left guard imo.."

Glad he got into the probowl for a bit of recognition.

Reading around some are. What really makes me laugh ? When he came here everyone predicted no way he beats out anyone for a starting job, he did. The next year it was said Jerry will be LG and Nate Garner will be RG, That never happened.

This year Steinbach was brought in to replace Incognito, that didn't happen and now the kid goes to the Pro Bowl and we are going to replace him when
1 Who is going to be our LT in 2013. Everyone pray its not Martin because thats going to be fugly
2 John Jerry at RG ? Now thats a joke. Like asking a wheel barrel full of mud to do the 1/4 mile in 12 seconds
3 Who is our RT ? Again, the Garner flag waivers are still out there and he will get beaten like a rug and Yeatman ? Who knows, no one does.

    So,

We cut a LG that has played every game less maybe 1 in 3 years. Ranked pretty high on any place you look. Has his act together with the team, fans and media and now is going to the Pro Bowl and we cut him ? Some people on here need brain surgery and others ask why I do not like S. Florida.

You go to most any teams boards who have players going to the Pro Bowl and they are happy, here? Very sad. Sadder thing is most blurping out BS have never stepped in Sun Life stadium or have been to A game in yada yada yada. LOL

He's always had some detractors but I sure don't recall that "everyone predicted no way he beats out anyone for a starting job", such as you seem to recall. I recall more being glad we signed him than were negative about it, since his initial contract was a basic 1-year look see sort of deal.

No its not everyone but you know what I mean. Any of the kids on the team do anything close to decent for themselves and the wackos come out of the woodwork. Its really unreal. Not saying we have the greatest team on earth but at least we have a team. Have a cousin in St. Louis and people around here would be livid if the team left town and did not get one back for 8 years or not at all.

Just sayin. I am glad for every player, from every team that gets to be in the Pro Bowl. Not bad at all.

If you remember the one year deal was Incognitos agents idea. The team wanted to give him a 2 year play for squat contract. Guess he liked it here and said one year and then if I do good, you pay me and they did.

I just really want to say....

Where I live there was this old drunk homeless guy, (and I call him that even though I believe he lives in a home on my block). Who was always shouting drunken nonsense and throwing bottles and seemingly arguing with himself in a drunken stupor in the middle of the night. I've actually seen him kick a garbage can over, pretty angrily for some reason around 3:00 am once, knocking all the stuff out of it all over the street, and then turn around to run for his life, in which he then fell face first on the side of the road and passed out (I assume.) I woke up the next morning and saw that he was still there, faceplanted (called 911 for him, funny because they knew who I was talking about and where before I said where I was). I never saw him again after that, and I never met him, but to me his name was always Herb.

Now I tell you that to let you know that everytime I read one of your posts, like this one, I read it in Herbs voice, because thats what it seems like to me. It's a voice i can only compare to Uncle Ruckus. I love reading all of your words of wisdom and continued posts due to this. and for that - I thank you.

If he was truly a GREAT guard, as you suggest. He would have made all pro and been selected to play in the game in the beginning. He certainly wouldn't have had to wait to be added to the team after those who actually made the team decided not to play in the game.

Incognito is a solid NFL guard, but that is about it. He is far from being a GREAT player in the NFL.

Semantics. There are 70+ guards in the league that see regular playing time in the league, and he's among the top-10 guards selected for the Pro-bowl. You can feel free to use whatever adjective you prefer.

To have someone who doesn't even know what a rational thought is, state that my comment was embarrassing is what is really funny. You continue to espouse your opinions and they continue to be wrong the majority of the time. I just figure you have been spending too much time smelling all that manure up their in horse country.

As far as I am concerned Mike Pouncey is also a Pro Bowler.

    Long former Pro Bowl
    Incognito current Pro bowl
    Pouncey deserving of Pro Bowl.

Get us a right guard, resign Long an lets roll.

Not only do you think the Pro Bowl is absolute proof of one's skill, but you also think the difference between "first ballot" and "alternate" is meaningful.

Yup, I am embarrassed for you. That's on the internet. The whole can see that.

It looks like to me that Richie will start. Two AFC guards were replaced. Yanda and Mankins. Richie is replacing Yanda and Zane Beadles is replacing Mankins. Richie was added to the roster before Beadles, so IMO he should start.
