Who do you think will win? This is another tough game to call. SD has looked like crap all year but turned on the momentum meter for the past several games. Indy started off bad but ended up doing really well. Just to go against the grain I'm going to say SD wins. It's on at 8 tonight.
Tough one, IMO. The Chargers secondary is still living off of athleticism and not technique, specifically Antonio Cromartie. Peyton Manning could pick them apart but they do have his number. I'm going with Indianapolis though.
I hope the Chargers win. In my opinion the Colts are the team we match up against the most poorly. That said I think Indy takes care of business in a close game.
Chargers have the worst pass defense in the NFL (or close to it) at #31. LT sits on the bench, Rivers goes off though... Chargers...35-27
In order to face Indy, we must beat the Ravens, and Steelers. If that happens, and Indy makes it past SD and TENN, we are at home for the conference championship. Bring Indy on I say. We'll keep Peyton off the field, and match them score for score. They don't scare me at all. Its been proven that the best way to beat the Colts is to control the clock. We're good at that. I'm taking SD in a barn burner. 38-35
San Diego is 0-5 against current playoff teams. Last 4 wins against teams combined 24-40. Coached by Norv Turner. LDT hurting (I give it till midway through the 2nd and hes sulking on the sideline) and no Sproles. Defense is a sieve. Indy is hot and rolling, they are a well coached team that knows how to win in the playoffs with one of the few guys out there who will take over a game (Manning, and no, Rivers is not there yet). Indy no question.
I think Indy. They are a better overall team and I saw on the NBC ticker that the Indy defense has only allowed 6 passing TDs all year.
I didnt say he wasnt. But hes not at Mannings level. Manning can just take over a game and win it pretty much by himself. Rivers, while a damn good QB, I dont think has that yet. Maybe a few playoff wins and Ill change my thinking. But until he does, Manning has the edge. And for gods sake, its Dungy versus Norv! NORV! Who would take Norv Turner lol!
Rivers is going to be elite but we will see if he has arrived tonight. Right now the only QBs in the league I would call elite are Peyton Manning and Tom Brady (if healthy).
Looked like he was dragging that foot. I thought that Tomlinson's comment about not making cuts, rather going downhill with power was interesting because I don't see that happening.
i agree that manning is better. but SD has home field, and they have a certain kryptonite feel to the way they play manning.
What I think will be something to keep an eye on is the Colts defensive line against the Chargers offensive line. The Colts defensive line averages out to about 265 lbs. while the Chargers line is very heavy. Rivers and Cutler are the two best QB's not named Manning and Brady IMO. EDIT: Brees is also in there.
I don't see him being very successful tonight. Sproles has had some of his better games against the Colts.
yeah, LT's entire game is built around making people miss and hitting that diagonal lane to the outside.
Colts opened up misfiring on offense, Wayne was open twice, and Cromartie, last year's hero, is not looking good right now.
Definitely. He's use to those sharp cutbacks that spring him up field and then he bounces it to the sidelines.
Rivers yes, Cutler has huge potential but he can be down right terrible when he wants to be. To be a big time QB you have to be consistent and lead your team in the clutch and I don't see either of those things with Cutler...yet. I think he has a good chance of being one of the best but I'm not sold on him. I would agree on Brees but as the third best in the league. Matt Ryan may be joining in this conversation as well. I will be thrilled if Henne can be anywhere near Ryan's level as a QB.
Brady? I know you have a man crush on Cutler. Personally Id need to give him a bit more time. He can make some plays, but he gives some up too.
Yep...not his "fault" he is injured, but when it keeps on happening during crunch time...as Dickie V would say "Not a PTPer baby"
Nah man, that's not powder blue, it started out Bronco blue, the color has just faded because its really old
I'm partial to Cutler because he's my favorite QB in the league. I think he is a elite Quarterback in the league. Its difficult to lead his team somewhere simply because he has no defensive support. He puts up 35 points and the defense gives up 38. Cutler is a gunslinger for sure but is still a very good QB in my opinion. Rivers is an elite QB. Simple in my eyes. Ryan will join it in two years IMO.
