Not for the cost, he didn't.

30-ish WRs had more TDs then him last year. Our record declined. Our points scored declined. Our yards declined.

If that is production, then I no longer understand the language.

    He did.

I don't see what our teams record and yardage total has to do with Marshall. We're focusing on the player, not the team.

I agree that he had issues with touchdowns, but he finished with 6 scores and ended the year strong. You also can't throw away the yards and catches he produced here. He was a great player for us.

I honestly don't understand the Pro Marshall argument.

I'm told he made the team better, but I say our record declined. So, I'm told records don't matter when it comes to WR and that I need to understand he made our offense better. Ok, so I say our offensive yards declined with him here and I'm told that's not important. So I say our points declined while he was here, and I'm told that doesn't matter either. So what's important? His stats? Cause he was easily close to the worst #1 Wr in terms of TDs in the league. Then I'm told that's not important, yards are. But we already determined we got less yards per game and for the season with him on the team.

    Where does it end?

None of those were my arguments.

I'm judging Marshall based on what Marshall did. He produced, despite playing with Henne, who IMO was the reason we had a bad offense.

Now, I agree that Marshall had issues with touchdowns/Red zone early in the year with the dropped TD passes. He did improve on that, however, and ended with 6 scores. That's about how many scores Andre Johnson averages in his career every season. So while he had issues, I think they are a little over exaggerated.

Part of it is your argument.

1200 yards means nothing if it didn't improve our offensive yards. It means he got those yards when somebody else would have. He didn't help us improve anything.

Over aggregating that he there were over 30 players with more receiving TDs then him? You realize that averages out to about one player per team caught more TDs than him? There is no justifying that. He made Denver better. He may make Chicago better. He did not in anyway make Miami better.

    No, it isn't.

    1200 isn't nothing. That's great production.

The lack of touchdowns doesn't diminish everything else he did. Like i said, he still ended up with 6 scores, which is what on average Andre Johnson scores. I agree that he should have scored more, but at the end of the day he was a great receiver for us.

Because you fail to mention the impacts other units had. Our running game went from great to awful, as did the OL. While Marshall didn't help the team improve from where it was, it doesn't mean he didn't have an impact by causing the team and offense to be merely bad, instead of a disaster.

Was the trade worth it? Obviously not. Did his stats matter? Obviously not. But without Brandon Marshall, we would of most certainly been among the worst teams in the league battling it our for the likes of Cam Newton and Andrew Luck instead of the mediocrity we had instead.

How is great if it didn't improve overall yrds of the team? That means without him, we had more yards.

1000 yrds rushing is horrible but 1200 yrds receiving is great?

So basically, because the Dolphins didn't have other players who could produce, Brandon Marshall's production meant nothing.

Since when is a receiver catching 1200 yards in a season a bad thing?

Maybe the issue with the teams total yardage was a team issue?

    What numbers matter?

    W-L Records don't.
    Offensive Yards don't.
    Points scored don't.
    Individual TDs don't.
    Yards per catch don't.

I guess the only thing that matters is individual yards.

    I disagree.

Also, don't scoff at 1200 like its easy to get. That's pretty fantastic. Especially when you can do it year in and year out like he can.

I clearly said running game. Last time I checked, a running game usually consists of more than 1 rusher. Our running game as a whole was mediocre last year, and a disaster the year before that. If I was talking about Reggie Bush by himself, I would of said Reggie Bush.

Nor did I say anything about being "great". Brandon Marshall was merely good last year. Nothing more nothing less.

Now instead of throwing **** on the wall like you usually do, try going back and addressing what was really in that post.

No basically because the Dolphins had other players that produced better without Marshall than with Marshall, Marshall's production took away from theirs rather than added. Especially considering the overall offense went down.

Brandon Marshall was the best in the league at throwing quarterbacks under the bus.

FWIW I just saw on the NFL network ticker that Jim Irsay tweeted after hinting at a potential serious trade "It may go down this weekend" Is this the Vontae deal. I for one hope not.
