Here's some info on Kevin Coyle:
- He has 35 years of coaching experience
- He was the DC at Holy Cross, during that time they were the winningest I-AA team in the country.
- He was DC at Syracuse, and one year, they lead the nation in interceptions and set a school record for fewest rushing yards allowed
- He was cornerback's coach then DB coach for Cincinnati, during his tenure the Bengals were 5th in interceptions.
- If Zimmer had left the Bengals, it is believed Coyle would have gotten the DC vacancy.
If anyone finds more please post. Thank you.

track record seems fine .... would be interested in his philosophy more than his record ...

I am excited about this season. I just hope we don't retread the organization. Maybe he is a Diamond in the ruff. I was happy with Nolan. He definately had an impact on our Defense this year. Not right away but it was noticeable. I am glad Fisher didn't come here. Man I wouldn't have been able to take it.

Yea, its too bad. I wonder if there was some internal info we don't have on why he wasn't even considered. Ross and Company could have at least given the man some respect and an interview. Hell the lunch or Dinner would have been a tax write off:shifty:

yeah I would like to know his philosophy. Aggressive? Conservative? A lot of movement at the line? I'm excited to see.

I wasn't excited to get him. In fact I considered him a retread and was disappointed. I assumed the lack of progress the first 7 games was do to off season lag and installation of a new system. Was not aware of the Boles thing. I thought he was a d backs coach. The point I was trying to demonstrate about the interview was that you would think Ross and Ireland would be all the more sensitive to things like this since it is no secret that they don't treat their people with respect( ala Harbaugh incident). Don't get me wrong I would have loved me some Harbaugh, just was not handled properly. Does Ross get a pass, maybe he is new to this. But Damn the same stuff over and over makes one wonder!

Maybe he can make Smith a player.
