The Miami Dolphins today cut fullback Alec Ingold and kicker Jason Sanders. The expected cuts help relieve the Dolphins anorexic salary cap issues.
Sanders, one of the better kickers in Dolphins history missed all of last season after injuring his hip in camp last year. Riley Patterson was signed in his place and despite not making the long kick as Sanders regularly did, Patterson missed only 2 field goals last season
Alex Ingold, one of the more beloved members of the Dolphins was expected to be released, particularly with the departure of McDaniel and an offense that depended on a reliable fullback.
The cuts bring the Dolphins salary cap woes from being $770k to over $6.2 million.
