if every single thing played out exactly the same this season.....except for chad pennington going down...... are we still on december 19th 2009......7-6? are we better? worse? who do we lose to instead of beating? if chad pennington is still our starter how is are record and season looking? (day before game its slow, i wanted to throw out a fun topic to discuss)
I'm gonna say we're about in the same place, except people would hate Ginn a whole lot less. Henne has managed most of the games well for us, similar to what Pennington would have done.
Eh, I don't think we would be any better than 7-6. We might have beat Buffalo the 2nd time, but we might've lost to the Jets the 1st time or the Pats. I'm not sure losing Penny affects us worse than losing Ronnie.
not sure exactly where we would be prolly somewhwre the same ill say one thing as much as i hate injuries im glad it happened this way we needed to find out if henne could make his bones 23rd..... this young team needed the valuable experience not a bad season considering what they have been through
I don't have Madden, so I cannot, play the game... Maybe someone can try to have these past games adding all the other injuries, with Chad still as our starter and see what the simulations come up with???
funny lucky. Yeah, it's interesting. It will be even MORE interesting IF we make the playoffs WITHOUT all those starters. That'll make some decisions harder. Like how much money to offer Penny in a backup role.
If Penny didnt go down I would still be wondering if we were ever going to find OUR Qb, I dont have that concern so much anymore.
we would be 4-9 if pennington was still QB but then again he woulda got benched on our 6th loss, henne is just more poised and has a heck of an arm, pennington seems to lob his throws
hey guys i too have an interesting question, if we could actually use space aliens and make them into football players like on space jam, would we still be 7-6?
We are below 500 if Pennington doesn't go down IMHO. He wouldn't have won the Pats game without Ronnie.
I think we'd be better Sick. If Ronnie, Ferg etc. hadn't gone down. I honestly don't know about Pennington vs. Henne tho'. I think CP was ready to take us all the way this year, but I guess that's something we'll never know.
I wouldn't say that. He was eating the Pats up in our second game last year prior to Cam getting hurt. Pennington finds ways to win, arm strength or not.
We definitely don't win the 1st Jet game with Pennington. I'd say 5-8 with Pennington. The Buffalo game was lost by coaching, IMO so Pennington wouldn't have won that either.
That may be, but if you look at Henne's 3 losses as starter, I don't think any one of those could've been overcome by Pennington (no knock on Pennington BTW) Saints loss - well this one was purely on a) defense b)bess's fumbe c) tedd ginn's drop/INT d) officiating not overturning Sharper fumble. Pats loss - Our Defense just couldn't come up with the big stop when necessary and I doubt Pennington's winning that game in NE Buffalo loss - Coaching, Coaching, Coaching, and bad 4th quarter defense. However if there is one game you could argue Pennington might take control of and win, it'd be this game. I truly believe that with Pennington, we'd also lose that 1st Jets game and the 2nd Pats game putting us at 5-8
What I find interesting is the fact that it is a known fact that Penny has been the extra lift that Henne has needed to help him become what we are seeing on the field this season yet most of you say we lose more games if Penny stays healthy? Sorry but I just can't agree with that, if anything we are now in the lead as far as the division is concerned and on our way to another 11-5 season.
ehh. I gotta throw Don Strock attcha. He was the QB behind the QB when Marino first arrived, yet he was unable to lead this team when he had the opportunity...just sayin'.
If you are speaking purely of leading then he would have no issues at all. I am referring to his limited/declining skill set. he shares that quality with Strock. To me, he is much more valuable to this team in a supportive/coaching role. Henne has shown great poise and leadership in his first games as a starter and, I believe much of that is due to his time with Penny. Much as Strock was to Marino. Also I think we lose a couple more games with Penny than with Henne, and Ginn looks just as questionable as WR. As much as I hate to say an injury is a good thing I think this team will be much better in the coming season because of Henne's opportunity.
he played what 4 games after a season where he did well. What did you see that was declining? Was that even enough time to see a pattern of decline?
