I have one version of Black Stone Cherry on my IPod already. I just found an import version of it with a lot of extra songs to it. If I get that CD, how do I keep them from merging together when I upload the Import CD? Thanks for your time and help in advance.:hi5:

It will only replace the one you have if they have the same filename.

Last time I did this it merged them together. I tried this with a Red CD, and an extended version CD by RED, and I have two versions.

I'd rename your new one then before uploading it.

Are you taking it straight from the cd to the ipod? You'll first have to copy it to your PC to rename it and move it to the ipod from there. When you right click the file on your PC, you'll see the rename option.

Usually I upload the CD to my PC, plug in my Ipod and it goes automatically.:wink2:

even if you rename the files, the "tags" will be the same (artist, album, song etc.).

i would put the original album on my ipod first, then got to itunes and in the column where it says "album," i'd change all the tracks on the original album to something like "Black Stone Cherry Original."

after that, i'd get the songs off the import CD, and do the same. (except this time putting "Black Stone Cherry Import" in the album column for each track)

Open iTunes; set it to NOT automatically import CDs, but keep the setting that associates CDs with iTunes.

Then when you load the CD to your PC's CD drive, the CD's contents will pop up on iTunes; highlight all the songs and right-click, select "info."

In "info," you can rename the album, artist and album artist, among other possible modifications.

Set that up as you wish, to differentiate this album from the other one you already have in iTunes.

    Enjoy!
