Just looked into it. I hate to say it, but this is likely a token interview. While the Rooney Rule only requires minorities to be interviewed for head coaching jobs as of now, the NFL is trying to push teams to interview some for front office jobs. I believe Clinkscales is Parcells way of appeasing the league.

I really do hate to be cynical, but it might have just been an interview to appease the "Rooney rule". Everyone just seems so certain that it's a foregone conclusion that Ireleand is the man. Guess we'll see, and I hope this guy interviewed today is given every consideration.

Likely, Glazer wouldn't report Ireland is a lock without knowing it for a fact.

The Rooney Rule applies only to head coaches.

They are trying to make it a rule for front office people as well.

Dang Nublar - sorry I didn't catch your earlier post and my later response was similar to yours.

I actually was under the impression that the Rooney Rule had been recently expanded to include upper front office positions, like the GM. I googled it though and could not find anything to confirm that though.

    Anyway, peace....
