NFL rules state that if the third quarterback enters the game before the fourth quarter, the first and second QB's are not allowed back in the game. Assuming Pennington and Henne are 1 and 2 respectively, which they should be, that means Pat White would be listed as the three. So if he were to come in to the game, he would have to stay in the game unless it's the fourth quarter. Unless I'm not quite clear on the rules, it's something to think about.
Yes he is will be a QB first and formost Jeff Ireland said so in his press conference yesterday. You can find it on the miami dolphins website. I'm thinking more down the road when Henne and White come in as QB . Also; god forbid things don't go well this year for Pennington...
He's already on the roster and listed as QB / WR http://www.miamidolphins.com/newsite/team/roster/roster.asp I'd guess they list him as a WR once the regular season begins because then they can play him anywhere.
Yeah, well that was the point. He's going to have to be listed as a WR if he wants to play because of the rules.
Can they change it during the season ? If so I believe they'll list him as WR, carry Pennington and Henne as the only QB's, and if we need during the season we'd switch Pat to QB
I think you misunderstand the rules. It isnt a limit on who you can active, if you activate three QBs at the start of the game it is irrelevent, you can switch them up to your liking. Its to prevent teams who do only two from being without one.
we wont know that for how long? certainly not next year. so as of next year, he should be listed at WR, and WR only.
This sounds like the answer to the question, but either it was poorly worded or i have crappy reading comprehension because I can't seem to make sense of it lol.
They could list him as WR and make it work with the wildcat. They could list him as #2 QB and still make it work. The bottom line...it will work. FINS WIN!!!
