He keeps hiring coaches with no experience. The next great coach who doesn't get hired when left go from this team. Bring in some football people...enough is enough.

Ross became majority owner of a team that made the playoffs and finished 11-5 in the regular season the year before he purchased the team. Over the next 7 plus years, the Dolphins have not had a single winning season and this years team appears to be their worst team since the 1-15, 2007 Dolphins.

So other than renovating a stadium that continues to have plenty of empty seats during Dolphin games, because of the lousy product on the field. I think Ross has clearly shown over his time as the teams owner that he is totally clueless when it comes to hiring football people who know how to build a successful team.

I thought keeping Ireland too long and hiring Philbin were bad decisions by Ross. The hiring of Tannebaum as director of football operations has clearly been the worst move Ross has made as this teams owner. Right now I rate him as the worst owner in the NFL.

 

The problems with this team start at the top. And yes, I believe he is the worst.

He's not the worst, but by god he makes some horrible hires. I don't think Gase is one of them but the guys cooking the proverbial soup on the personnel side seem lost about which way they want to take the franchise.

The Saints won a SB with that owner. The Colts won a SB and have been to numerous playoffs with their owner. The 49er's were in the SB a few years ago with their owner. The Jags beat the Dolphins last season.

I will admit that it is a close finish between the Browns owner and Ross. Except I am not a fan of the Browns and therefore zero winning seasons during his 7 years as the Dolphins owner and having one of the worst teams in the entire league in year 8 of his ownership, makes me conclude he is the worst when it comes to building a quality football team.

I now live in Hawaii and no longer attend games.So the fact he spent his own money to upgrade his own stadium is totally irrelevant to me. Since he owns the stadium, it should have been his responsibility to spend his own money on these upgrades.

The one thing I have noticed on TV is the upgraded stadium hasn't prevented thousands of seats from remaining empty for home games. Because it's the product on the field that is most important and giving the fans a good product on the field has been a complete failure during his time as majority owner of the organization.

 

I was being sarcastic, but the owner does pay the kicker and the salaries of the individuals who make personnel decisions. As the saying goes, " the buck stops here" and in every sports organization that buck stops with the owner.

 

I don't know if he's the worst, but he's a bad owner, and that's a problem, I think he can fix that by hiring someone else to run the franchise.

 

Ross is just like any other owner, does not know football, but unlike most of them he offers unlimited resources.

I honestly think he made a step in the right direction with Gase. Gase KNOWS football, but he doesnt have his players yet. It will tale another year. But Tannebaum is a guy he needs to let go

 

Ross will spend the cash. He just doesn't know how to shop.

 

He did, he hired Tannebaum and that only made a bad situation worse.

I am certainly willing to give Gase more time because he is stuck with a team with very little talent on it.

Where I differ with you is your belief that it will only take one more year to turn this team around.
With the age on the DL, the need for LB's and CB's on defense. Along with continuing to rebuilt the OL, finding a TE and a new QB of the future.

I see this more as a three year timetable for a turnaround and I just don't know if Ross is going to give Gase a total of four years to turn things around.

What I have no doubt about though is that if Ross doesn't get rid of a Tannebaum and bring in someone who knows how to build a football team, we will be sitting here in four years discussing how to rebuild this team again.

Also I agree Ross is willing to spent his money to upgrade the team. Unfortunately though, his choice of the person he has chosen to spend these resources doesn't have a clue of how to allocate these resources effectively. Tannebaum is happy to spend Ross's money but gets very little in return for the money spent.

 

He's certainly one of the worst owners in the NFL.

 

Many of the people who are defending Ross are saying that he spends money, when that is pretty irrelevant, this isn't baseball, there is a salary cap, Ross spends as much as every other owner in the league.
