I have gotten private messages from several individuals on here telling me to find another team, since I have been so negative about Sparano, Ireland, and the talent on this team. Or I should say the lack of talent on this team. I don't let these private messages concern me one bit. Because I know that I have followed the Dolphins for much longer then most of the posters on here have been alive. I have spent well over $140,000 over the last 40 years purchasing season tickets and traveling to away games to watch the Dolphins.

I have put in a lot of time and money over the years in support of the Dolphins. All I have ever asked it that they put a team on the field that will put forth the effort over four quarters to win the game. When a coach says that the problems on the field are fixable. I expect him to fix these problems. I don't expect to see the same problems week after week, much less year after year as I have with this regime.

I am a Dolphin fan and I will remain one long after Ireland, Sparano, and the players now on this team are somewhere else. I just have no faith in the head coach and the GM and until Ross makes the move to rid the organization of these individuals. I will not spend one more penny attending games. I will also continue to express my frustration with the Dolphin organization on this forum in hopes that members of the Dolphin organization read the forum and understand the level of frustration we long time Dolphins fans are experiencing, as we see our beloved organization become one of the worst organizations in the NFL.

Take a look at the Bills OL, just a bunch of guys who get the job done at a fair rate. Their WRs? All young guys. Their QB was a castoff for a long time and then he was well coached to success. On offense the talent comparison between Miami and Buffalo is in Miami's favor.

    Now look at their defense.

Dareus- Kyle Williams- Dwan Edwards- They turned Merriman into a decent player again-Kelsay-veteran Andra Davis- Barnett who was let go by G.B. and then they have a couple solid CBs and decent safeties.

We easily have as much talent as that team.

You're just comical.. Keep praying for us to lose so we can secure the #2 pick in the draft and miss out on Luck.

Just watching Rogers eat up Chicago - that is the QB you need to win in the Super Bowl these days. Do we have that? No. Can Henne become that? I don't think so. I think he can be a decent starter, but that is it.

I have made the loose comparison before - his career is reminding me of a Trent Edwards or Alex Smith. "He's getting better, this may be the year, this may be the time, we can't give up on him yet, there are to many variables, it's not is fault!" How far will that get us?

Henne will probably wind up having a very nice career (by nice I mean long) as a back-up QB/part time starter.

That's exactly what I see too. Career backup, 2nd tier 3rd tier. Injury insurance, or bad teams with no QB (kinda like us now)

With the season potentially on the line.

With the head coach's job possibly on the line.

They still don't get it done.

    That definitely says it all.

Exactly. And the thing is, we have heard the same stuff about Smith for years and years now that we are still seeing thrown at Henne. Next thing we know its year 7 and we still have the same questions, same excuses. At some point you just need to decide to make a move.

I actually think the debate is over...but the other way. He is not going to lead us to a "better place". He's an okay QB, but he'll never succeed in Miami. We are going to have a new staff next year, this staff will probably get canned in a matter of weeks, and that will further stunt his development. I think he should go up to Chicago or somewhere and play in that offense. Hes done here, just as soon as the new coaching staff gets here and drafts its QB (Luck or Jones).

At the end of the day they need to figure out why they've only scored (huge field position advantage plays) 17, 13, and 16 points. Point is that's what it comes down to. Miami has blown it in the red zone, absolutely blown it. They're 2-1 with a decent red zone offense.

I think its fair to say Henne's a solid QB when things are going well around him, i.e solid pass protection, but isn't the type of QB who can compensate for his teams shortcomings or put the team on his back.

To me, its one of those things where if you need a game manager, he can be that, but don't expect to him to win in a shootout or ask him to overcome 1000 mistakes with penalties, sacks, and missed FG's. He's not that guy.

I think you have to have a really great defense with Chad Henne. Henne's that guy that can put up yardage and with a run game produce points. He's not going to carry you but if your offense can do the simple things you're ok. Now I'm not saying Luck wouldn't take the team to the next level (he could).

According to what I have read, Nix was hired by the Bills as a scout in 2009 and promoted to GM in January 2010. If I am wrong, I'm sorry, but since I don't follow the hires of the Bills very closely, I have to rely on the information I get off the internet in regards to the date he took over as GM of the Bills.

Saying someone could've performed better is entirely unrelated to saying who lost us the game.

Was Henne great today? No.... but he was certainly GOOD ENOUGH to win it for us.

Was it Henne's fault Bess didn't get up field on 3rd down to keep the first drive going?
Was it Henne's fault we fumbled in the REDZONE?
Did Henne miss another chip shot FG that made the difference in the game?
Did Henne let a nicely thrown TD pass go through his fingers?
    Did Henne allow 5 sacks?
Was Henne the zebra who completely missed the offensive pass interference call that led to Cleveland's game winning TD to happen?

No, no, no, no, no, and no.... but you know what he did do? He at least put us in position to win the game in the first place if we didn't play so freakin sloppy for the 2nd straight week. 19/25, 255, 1 TD, 0 INTs before that last drive (that we should've never been in in the first place).

JOSH FREEMAN was 22/32, 180 yards, 0 TDs, 2 INTS...... yet his terrible play was overcome by his team's great overall play to where the Bucs could still beat Atlanta and MATT RYAN 16-13. In comparison, Henne actually played a good game.

What a cop out answer. This team should've never been in that situation to begin with. Way to reduce the entire game down to one series, a series where our receivers were pretty well covered up I might add. Yeah, and that completed out of bounds pass to Gates was all Henne's fault, too, right. :wink2: I can't believe Chad wasn't running along side Gates to remind him to not let the defender squeeze him into the sideline. :sarcasm:

No, it's not 79. You're math is terrible. How do "continue" to have a 79 QBR after posting a 90.4 QBR game?

The debate over Henne is useless for both sides. He will not be retained at the end of the season. We're going to finish with a top 5 pick, and draft a QB. His era in Miami is coming to an end.

The quarterback you describe is not a very good quarterback, because rarely does an offense have all things clicking at the same time. Good quarterbacks elevate the play of the players around them. That's something Henne has never been able to do.

That pass to Gates was a very low percentage pass. In this situation, I don't believe that was a smart choice when 10 yards or so gets you well within Carpenter's range.

Listen you can point out the mistakes other players made in the game all you want and then use them to make it seem like Chad Henne is actually doing a fantastic job, but the fact of the matter is Chad Henne still shows limitations and still shows that he has trouble being consistent. He came out and had a good first game of the season (against the NFL's worst defense) and then followed it up with a poor game against the Texans. He came out in the first half against the Browns looking superb, and followed up with 22.5 Passer Rating in the second half.

I was incorrect, accidentally hit the wrong button in the rating calculator. He has a season long 82 Passer Rating.

Wow...awesome production there. In a wide open offense with these receivers to throw to, no less.

Before today's games, there were 9 QBs with ratings of 100, or higher.

82 puts him in the 20s. That isn't decent.

So how do you rate some of the other young QBs:

SAM BRADFORD, who's 0-3, is playing poorer than Henne, and has scored 13, 16, and 7 points in his NEW OFFENSE?
MATT RYAN, who's 1-2, has played virtually identical to Henne, and scored 12 pts & 13 pts in 2 of his losses?
JOSH FREEMAN, who's 1-2, is playing POORER than Henne, and has scored 20, 24, and 16 pts (thanks to defensive TDs/turnovers)?
MATT CASSEL, who's 0-3, is playing significantly poorer than Henne, and has scored 3, 7, and 17 points?
KEVIN KOLB, who's 1-2 against possibly the easiest NFL schedule, and couldn't score more than 10 pts vs Seattle?
JAY CUTLER, who's 1-2, is playing NO BETTER than Henne, and has scored 13 pts & 17 pts in his last 2 games?

Those guys must be journeyman, too, right.

You can point out a million stupid examples. Look at who has won the SB recently. Defenses get tough in the playoffs. Those mediocre Seattle wins over the lowly Cardinals don't mean anything.

He's an OK starter if you're OK with not winning very many games and having a minimal-to-none chance of competing for a championship. If you're OK with that, then yeah he's an OK starter.

Chad Henne played great. There is no sugar coating it. Yes he and the rest of the team needs to get better at goal line. But Henne this year, has played great football. 3 INTs of his, 2 of them were at the end of the game, last chance situation where he needed to throw the ball or lose. The other one, was tipped. The line needs to protect him better. Also 90% QB rating. He is doing better then Orton This team needs work and to be honest, Henne is not the problem. Not at all

Well, aren't the "replace Henne" folks making the assumption that a different Qb would perform better?

It seems to me that line of thinking is "ah-hah! Henne's fault!"

Im not so sure that it is.
