Is there any chance the Dolphins can convince Danny to be our QB coach?

We don't have a good system in place to develop QB's.

Perhaps Dan can work with Chad Henne, and he can be ready to tutor and train the next young QB we acquire. Before Dan retired, the Dolphins were -supposed- to have acquired a great young QB prospect to be his replacement, waiting behind the scenes, and watching and learning from Dan for 2-3 years under Dan's wing. Look at Aaron Rodgers sitting behind Brett Favre. Or Tom Brady sitting behind learning from Drew Bledsoe. We didn't do that, Dan retired, we got squat and have to start over.

Is there any shot we can convince Dan to do this? He'd be back on the football field with the guys, back around the environment he loves, working with the young guys as a coach...... really it's a good deal for both of us.....

    Hell no.

Marino was the greatest at playing the position, but he would suck as a coach. He wasn't & isn't known for X's & O's. Horrible idea.

“Pick a guy and let it fly” is not exactly great coaching. Agreed.

The Dolphins will have a lot of competition for the top candidates. There are currently openings in San Francisco, Denver and Carolina, and we await word on the coaching situations in Cleveland, Oakland, Cincinnati and Tennessee.
