We've discussed this ad nauseam, now it's time to make your picks. You're in Chris Grier's shoes and you get one trade, who are you taking?
6. Ja'Marr Chase(because I think Pitts is off the board)
18. Trade back to 26 with CLE, pick up #59 and send them #156
26. Zaven Collins
36. Terrance Marshall Jr
50. Javonte Williams
59. Quinn Meinerz
81. Rashad Weaver

Pitts
Bateman
Phillips (hope he drops)
Eichenberg (versatile OL)
Michael Carter (home run speed)texanphinatic likes this. -
6. Pitts
18. Paye
36. J. Williams
50. BPA (OL,S,LB)
81. BPAPennington's Limp Arm and texanphinatic like this. -
I think I'm looking for a trade somewhere in the first. Back from 6 or back from 18 or even up from 18.
6 - Happy with and expect top pass catcher. Wouldn't mind if we traded down to 9ish as long as we still end up with one of them.
18 - Trade. Unless someone drops unexpectedly and is a steal I don't think this year's draft talent offers great value. If we trade up it has to be only for a top WR AND Pitts (or maybe Sewell).
If back then for additional second, third or fourth round picks.
*36 - BPA - maybe a DE or RB. Ideally someone who fell out of the first. Not a reach though.
*50 - A centre or IOL - Dickerson, Humphrey, Meinerz...
*81 - BPA - RB, DE, LB, or even Double down on IOL.
* - I'm not locked in on any specific player but second round and onward I want us to come away with talent/ upgrades at:
IOL (x2 if the talent is there) Meinerz, Humphrey, Wyatt Davis,
DE Weaver, J. Phillips ??
RB Harris, Etienne, Williams, Carter
S Devine Deablo...
LB Dylan Moses, Jabril Cox, Jamin Davis,
1st round has to be premium players.
And I'm not convinced by many at 18 unless we can trade back a little - Paye, Ojulari, Harris, Parsons if he drops.
I think we can pass on RB and find talent later.mlb1399 and Pennington's Limp Arm like this. -
My ideal draft, if we stay put.
1a: WE/TE Chase or Pitts.
1b: Edge Paye
2a: RB Javonte Williams or Travis Etienne
2b: C Creed Humphrey or Quinn Meinerz
3: S Tyree Gillespie
5: CB Ben St-Juste
7a: LB KJ Britt
7b: OG Tommy Kraemer.
Dark horse for a late (7th) rounder: QB Shane Ehlinger, developed specifically for being a long-term backup.
If I get 2 of these right, that would be outstanding lol, but always fun to throw out your favorites.mlb1399 likes this. -
#6 - Pitts or Chase.
Fingers crossed!
#18 - Parsons if he slides.
If not I really like Paye.
Ojulari would also be a great Dolphins type pick here. Huge raw upside on an ascending player.
#36 - Phillips. Long Shot.
Realistically Asante Samuels Jr. (I think he profiles as a safety convert for us). Also like Leatherwood, Bolton or E.Moore.
#50 - Dickerson. Bohemeth, best centre in draft and huge leader/character guy. Fits our O line mold! Injury problems and may not be able to start the year. Skura could be place holder until he is ready.
Other - J. Williams, Ossai, Stokes
#81 - Sermon
Also really like S Deablo or Edge Toneytexanphinatic and mlb1399 like this. -
Note, I'm picking based on what I think the Dolphins will do. #18 is purely BPA (Parsons will drop) while the rest are drafting for position of need. I traded from 6 to 7 and swapped 41/81 w/ Detroit to deliver-
7. Kyle Pitts, TE Florida
18.Micah Parsons, LB Penn State
36. Javonte Williams, RB North Carolina
41.Terrace Marshall Jr., WR LSU
50. Carlos Basham Jr., EDGE Wake ForestLast edited: Apr 26, 2021 -
This what I think we happen not what I want to happen.. personally I think trading out of 3 was a mistake as I can see Pitts and Chase both going to Atlanta and Cincinnati.
6. Penei Sewell
18. Kwity Paye

50. Javonte Williams
