Jack Del Rio:Hottest Seat in the NFL?

Coach Jack Del Rio could be in danger of being fired.

Though he narrowly escaped this week's quintet of coaches on the hot seat, Del Rio remains at a key crossroads. One league source with knowledge of the dynamics in Jacksonville has told us that multiple factions are clashing within the organization. "If survives the season," the source said, "he likely won't survive the offseason."

Complicating matters is the team's assignment to a division that currently boasts three playoff-caliber franchises. This weekend, the 2-1 Colts come back to town. And Vito Stellino of the Florida Times-Union has dumped some booze on the barbecue by saying that he can't rule out a third straight blowout resulting in Del Rio being blown out of a job.

In 2007, Del Rio made a bold move, cutting quarterback Byron Leftwich and handing the ball to David Garrard only nine days before the first game of the regular season. The team responded by winning 11 games and beating the Steelers in Pittsburgh for a rare Jaguars playoff win. Two losing seasons since then haven't placed Del Rio in jeopardy, thanks to the big-money extension he received after his gamble gone good.

Well, as the Jags signed Trent Edwards, one has to wonder if the their Front Office is kicking themselves for not drafting Tim Tebow?
