Anybody that tells me that a little good natured showboating doens't hurt anything obviously needs to reevaluate DeSean Jackson's boneheaded play.

    Rivals.com Video

    Then last night

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HPo4vKoPd8Y]YouTube - DeSean Jackson Rookie Mistake vs Dallas Cowboys (9-15-08) *HQ*[/ame]

Lucky that assclown didn't cost the game (he didn't anyway Westbrook & McNabb did).

There is nothing wrong with celebrating. Jackson just made a boneheaded play and I'm sure he was reprimanded for it.

What was he celebrating? He didnt score! (In either video, he failed to score!)

PREMATURE CELEBRATION of a non-event is just plain stupid!!!!!

Proves he has a history of stupid.

Maybe he has poor depth perception and just can't judge where the goal actually is. In both cases if he had just went into the end zone like a man and not some prima donna he would have booked both scores on his stat sheet.

oh please, he let go of the ball a split second before he should have(which is a stupid play) but calling him a primma donna for it is ridiculous.

I don't understand why people have a problem with a celebration as long as they aren't rubbing it in the other teams faces(like TO dancing on the star in Dallas). For Christs sakes these guys are paid to play a kid's game.

I did but why call him a primma-donna? Its not like the guy was doing the star like Terrell Owens did with San Francisco in Dallas. The guy celebrated to early and he's a primma-donna?. As Danny said, they're being paid to play a kids game. I actually thought that he may have been trying to palm it in his other hand but it slipped.

    Again, what was he celebrating???

Clearly, by definition he isnt/wasnt a Prima Donna....but he is a SHOWBOAT....and worse, he is a failure at that too!

    Yes I did.

I don't think he was palming anything - he was tossing the ball down as he crossed the goal line and he threw it down too soon.

He's celebrating. It was a college game, he was having fun. He had a mistake, you know the thing we all sometimes have. How is that a primma-donna? Its not like he taunted anybody.

Oh I agree I make mistakes as well, just typically not by being a jackass.

Just by virtue of what he did disrespected the other team.

It wasn't even a college game it was the High School All-Star game. Playing football in high school is all about having fun and enjoying yourself. Hero is making way to big a deal out of this.

Call it what you will. I find it obnoxious at any level.

I have as much right to my point as any of you who enjoy circus football.

you are making a big deal out of nothing. who cares if they celebrate? honestly? does it change the game? if you get so annoyed about celebrating, then stop watching. the hate and complaining is getting old.

All I said was if you screw it up once you should consider not doing it again. I get annoyed with useless antics.
I watch football for the fundamentals not the theatrics.

With all due respect, I didn't ask your opinion and really don't care what it is in relation to how I feel about the subject. So if it's "old" to you please feel free to not participate.

    Over 25 is over 45.

this is a pointless debate. so he didn't use any fundamentals to be that open? your throwing away all his fundamentals on what would have been a great play because a matter of inches? you cant use great fundamentals if you don't score a touchdown? hahahhahaha

I have no problems with celebrating. Celebrating is fine Celebrating is 100% fine wth me and I don't like it when the NFL started legislating it away.

But you gotta complete the play first. This guy worried about celebrating more than scoring the TD. At what point did he consciously being to think "I'm going to time my drop perfectly so it's right after I cross the goaline."

It does change the game are you kidding? Did you really ask that? What if they get stuffed on the goal line? Don't say it doesn't happen, it happens every week. What if Westbrook gets injured somersaulting over the pile?

If he had scored the TD, and then celebrated, I'm all for it. I don't even care if he shows the other team up. I like that part. It's funny.

But this is somethign different. He didn't worry about his team, or his mates. After he saw the EZ he started worrying about himself.

Kids game? You might want to check that. This is a grown man's game invented by men, organized by men. IT just happens to also be played by some kids, who want to play this when they become men.

he celebrated less than a second to early and you guys are acting like he was at the 5 yard line..it was a mistake but c'mon it was a matter of seconds

You can't win if you're more concerned with how good you look than if you did what you were supposed to do.

He threw the fundamentals away when he threw the ball away.

You're right it is pointless to expect people to appreciate the sport at it's fundamental base without the dancing, prancing & theatrics.
