Jake Grove setting tone at practices http://www.palmbeachpost.com/dolphi...olphins_0607.html?cxtype=rss&cxsvc=7&cxcat=46
We can relate to his angst over 5 HC in 5 years. Hope he plays up to what we think he can, we MUST have a dominant OL and C is key so the guards can run block or pull as needed. If we can establish the running game in our standard offense, then the WildCat is not as necessary and we run it only when it will do the most good a-la the opposing D is primed for it.
I hope so, the guy wasn't the best in Oakland and couldn't stay healthy the last few hears. Hopefully a having a real organization will turn that around.
thats the only thing that really concerns me with the move from Satele to Groves, is Jake's injury history. If he can stay healthy, and get that early push against the bigger NT's that Satele had problems with though... we're laughing. Should hopefully be a great year to run in Miami.
Friend Brandon27: don't think there is any reason for concern about Jake's physical condition and every reason to suspect he will be a stellar addition to the Orca-5 the guy is a Proven Bull & a main-stay @ Center since H.S. Jake is the RealDeal. about Grove: 1) he notched a POA winning percentage of 90.6% while allowing backs to gain 6.2 yards per attempt behind his blocks. And Grove didn’t need a lot of help either. The ex Raider went one on one with defenders 67.5% of the time in 2008, far more frequently then either Matt Birk (39.9%) or Jason Brown (60.3%)." 2) was an All-American Center, a high 2nd round draft pick (1st OL to go in his draft), a team captain, had an extremely successful college career filled with accolades & awards 3) he was high on Parcells list of people to draft when he was with the Cowboys. the FrontOffice know him well. I think there is @ least the possibility that he can be one of the best of the best. We shall see.
