Pretty shocking if you ask me. Not often do you see a top ten draft pick opt to go back for his senior year http://www.draftcountdown.com/blog/Wright-Stuff-Blog.php#dec15
Good for him. Him, Christian Ponder, Jevan Snead, Jerrod Johnson, Nick Foles, maybe Blaine Gabbert and Ryan Mallett will make the first round very interesting for QB's next season. Throw Case Keenum in as the wildcard and that's a pretty interesting list.
I've tried to pay exactly no notice of the CBA situation at all in the hope that it will just go away and we can all play nice.
Personally I'd take the money. Leinart, Bradford- stuff happens, costly stuff. Locker could use another year under Sarkisian, but he could always go back and get his degree with 50 mil in the bank. This is beyond just him, this becomes potentially a multi-generational impact decision. He's looking at stupid money if he comes out. The main aspect, albeit not the only one, of higher education is improving your and your families' lot in life- earning power. Mission accomplished here- he can always finish up his degree, he won't always be able to make in one contract what many couldn't in a thousand years. Yep, if he has an injury, and/or a down year next season, he could go from potentially a top five pick(Kiper had him as the #1 pick) to somewhere late round one or out of the first round all together. This decision could cost him a major amount of money, I wish him luck.
Depends on how ruthless Locker is. We haven't had a Bernie Kosar Supplemental Draft situation in over 25 yrs. Locker could just work out, wait for the Draft to be over, declare for the Supplemental, and let the bidding war begin.
I like Foles. And whilst Keenum will be downgraded because of the offense he runs, he's very, very accurate.
