He is pretty much a lock to make the pro bowl for the next 10 years even if he stops being good after 5.

He deserves it too. Since the 1st game of the season at Atlanta, he's given up only 1 sack in 13 games (1st buffalo game).

I think he just had a bad game and Coach Sparano helped iron on the technique aspect that DeGuglielmo had installed. I've been pretty impressed with the O-line being 7 deep this year.

I think Long will only continue to get better and better. He's got the potential to be one of the best ever.

    pro bowl

Long and Grove both deserves the pro bowl nods

Here are a few stats regarding the offensive line that are not made public during a game. For your enjoyment...

    .........offensive snaps...sacks allowed..qb hits..qb pressures
    Jake Long..1006 snaps.....3 sacks.......4 hits....6 pressures
    Vernon Carey. 983 snaps...4 sacks......5 hits....12pressures

    Jake Grove.....663 snaps...0 sacks......1 hit......6 pressures
    Joe Berger.....342 snaps...0 sacks.......0 hits....1 pressure

    Justin Smiley..781 snaps...2 sacks.......4 hits...5 pressures
    Don Thomas...841 snaps...4 sacks.......8 hits....9 pressures
    Nate Garner...413 snaps...0 sacks.......0 hits....2 pressures

Here you have a left tackle and center that deserve a pro bowl nod while our right tackle is also top 5 in right tackles in the NFL.

The great thing is there only going to get better with time

Our two backups have played OUTSTANDING..IN 755 OFFENSIVE PLAYS BETWEEN THEM THEY HAVE ALLOWED
    0 SACKS---0 QB HITS--3 QB PRESSURES...INCREDIBLE

    all stats are from profootballfocus.com
Any questions and you would want to speak with
    Neil@profootball focus.com...a great guy

    happy holiday's to everyone

What does that say about Smiley & Thomas? It says do not count on them being starters next year. I could see Smiley out & Garner in as a cheaper LG. Thomas will probably get a 2nd season to improve.....but not more then that. Sparano has high expectations for the OL. Says a lot when Carey was our best OL by far back in the day & now is our 3rd best.

He is having a monster year. He is no doubt a future Hall of Famer if he continues getting better and better.

Slow down, dude. Hall of Fame talk is extremely premature.

Jake Long, Ryan Clady, Joe Thomas, and Michael Roos are the best tackles in the AFC.

I wonder how he would be if Vernon Carey were starting at LG next to him.

Last time I looked He was top ten votes in all of AFC not just the tackles LOL He has definitely earned it. Something is strange with all the Vikings in the top ten though...
