Still 3 false starts? I think he's already had 4 penalties already. Those are mental mistakes. I'd be more understanding to holding calls.
Yeah, Dallas' Dline gave us fits today up and down. Long with penalties... Pouncey with poor snaps... right side looking like a turnstile open for business. Pathetic.
Even to this day he struggles with power and speed rushers. He was trying to get a big jump to cover for his slow hips in pass protection. Three times is an indication it wasn't a cadence issue.
I said this when we drafted him. Nothing new. Jake long is a special player. He shouldn't be like everyone else.
sometimes the ball just needs to be snapped, i'll agree he hasn't played that great this year, but hike the ball for crying outloud
To me it looked like he couldn't hear or was off on the snap count. Its one thing to flinch. It's another to fire off the LOS by yourself.
Please keep the thread about Long and not about other posters likes or dislikes for other players. Thanks.
Richmond Webb was lights out. Jake was too until he got hurt last season. I don't think he is the same right now.
Jake has always had problems with speed rushers. He's trying to get off on the snap just misjudged a lot. I seriously think he needs surgery on that knee.
Well since Brandon Marshall is too busy catching touchdown passes while having a Sgt. Slaughter Cobra Clutch being put on him, it would only make sense to start going after the best player on the team. How about we start going after ****ty players like Matt Moore?
If Jake Long has a "problem" vs. speed rushers, so does everyone else in the league. As far as I know the one time he's given up a multiple-sack game vs. a single player is the week after he dislocated his shoulder vs. Julius Peppers.
Doesn't take a genius to remember the snap count. There's probably something physically wrong with Big Jake, and he's having a hard time compensating for it.
After the third false start he looked mighty pissed, like the snap count was wrong but he was the only one that moved. I think he's still not completely over the injury but he has looked like a good LT the last few weeks. Only problem is, we have seen how great he can be and are always comparing him to that level.
The third one was all on Matt Moore, even Simms thought so. Moore left the line in their stance for too damn long. Jake is clearly banged up, an off season will do him a lot of good.
so he struggles with speed and/or power...So he sucks? cant block anyone. His big jump is the best in the NFL...he always has it. 3 times to me would indicate a candence issue more than if it was only one time. You could see after one he was upset from what I presume bc he was in his stance for 15secs. I dont post much anymore but this post is moronic and just sounds like an upset fan
obviously moore had a problem with the snap count that game. he dropped two from shotgun because he wasnt ready and one undercenter because he wasnt ready. long is blocking ware, he obviously wants to be quick off the line to get in pass proctetion. blame moore. i know you homers won't but it looked like his fault.
I think he's banged up, but I think he's just having a down year. Could it be due to the dings? I'm sure. He doesn't seem to be fully confident.
I don't think Long's problem with the Cowboys was at all physical. Outside of the penalties, that might have been Jake Long's best game this year and Ware's worst. This is one of the few games he had no sacks, and he had minimal pressure. The announcers highlighted the play where Ware got a great jump off the snap, but Long lunged and pushed him past, but I don't know if that would count as a "pressure". Moore didn't seem to realize Ware was there and he neither interfered with or hurried the pass. Given how well he performed he can't be that far from 100%, but if he doesn't trust himself to be there physically, there's where the false starts come in, especially vs. maybe the best pass rusher in the league on the road. Regardless, he's played much better the last 5-6 games than he did the first 3-4.
Jakes tackle was also big in my mind, it prevented Moore from getting killed and possibly turning the ball over. Or even worse, Losman time...
So, Ware was in Jake's, and still produced no sacks and little pressure. Seriously, Jake did a great job on Ware. Ware was pretty much a non-entity.
I think Jake Long is fading....Poor decision on drafting Him first overall by the Failed Parcells regime!
