Welcome to the first official auction of the 2011 GM League. I present to you the fine specimen that is Jared Cook. Rules: All offers to be made publicly. Highest bid* that goes 24 hours without being trumped wins. * - Highest bid determined by me in case of TCTC** situation ** - TCTC (To close to call)
How high is the 6th? your team page has no info. also, fasano adds zero value to the offer. your offer will only be the highest if it is the highest pick.
Maybe to you. Cook was taken in the third round. He finished the year very strong for the Titans, and is poised for a breakout season. His value hasnt dropped.
He was taken in the third round two years ago, was buried behind Alge Crumpler’s and Bo Scaife’s reanimated corpses, and had to wait for injuries to decimate everyone in front of him. Even then, he only started one game, was inactive half the season, and has only one TD in two years. Now he has no quarterback and is at best a distant third option behind Chris Johnson and Kenny “225 Yards” Britt. That’s worth a 6th round flier in the hopes that maybe the light’s turned on and maybe Tennessee finds a QB worth a damn for 2011. That’s not worth a 4th and a 6th, or a 4th and a 5th, or whatever it would take to come out on top. Don’t be a used car salesman, GISH.
You could have said the same of Aaron Rodgers in 2007. Was a first round pick. Stuck behind the "reanimated corpse" of Brett Favre. Only played when injuries decimated those in front of him. Even then, he started no games and only had one TD in 3 years. We know how that played out. Stop being a hater. If you dont think he's worth it then dont bid.
Used car salesman technique. I did bid. And then Griddles bid more than I think he’s worth, so I didn’t make a counter. That’s how auctions work, especially when the auctioneer is using the format to get more than the player is worth.
Agreed, its not polite to disrupt someones auction whether we agree or not with the value of the player. We all value these players differently which is what makes this fun. Otherwise it would be boring.
or... you could offer something in an auction and then take that offer to someone else and complete a deal for another player... I've seen that happen before... haven't I?
If you could raffle off a player why do I have to wait 48 hours before I can do something else with my assets when you havent yet accepted those assets? If you dont accept them those assets are fair game imo. I dont wait as evidenced by the 20+ deals I completed last year.
