I am honored to have been able to watch JT dominate all these years in a Dolphins uniform. Such a pleasure. The guy was flat out unstoppable for most of his career.
I didn't realize how bad his injuries were until I read that article. Scary stuff, but JT is a warrior and he is passionate and crazy. You know he's crazy, he signed with the Jets at one point. That I forgive him for.

Yeah I love listening him on the Dan Lebatard Show on The Ticket. He went over this story in detail on the air. It was crazy and funny the way they were all discussing it.

You can attribute anything to selfishness if you try. And others might say that shutting it down when you both feel you can play at a high level and are playing at a high level is selfish. Either way, it's self-serving in some manner (not that there is anything wrong with that).

I remember Peyton Manning giving an interview one time on the radio early in his career, and he said something to the effect of, "If you play 1 play in the NFL, you're never fully 100% again for the remainder of your career."

That's a man that was willing to give everything for the game of football. He was the only Dolphin I ever seen carried off of the field on the shoulders of his teammates. The Dolphins will never see the likes of him again. He has done everything right, not only on the field but for the community as well. I saw him in Charlotte at his hotel for a preseason game against the Panthers, the only autograph he signed was for a kid in a wheel chair and he went through all of Dolphin and hotel security to do it. Nothing but respect for the man. Though he did sign with the Jests for a season. Almost everything right on the field.:no:

Never let anyone tell you that an NFL player doesn't love the game of football. You cannot play football at that level and not love the game. I don't care who you are. If there is any doubt that football is your love and passion, you will not make it in the NFL. You don't do this for just money. These guys aren't wired that way. At this level, they play this game because that's what they do. There is no substitute for this game in their lives.

Dude, I listened as well and the last half hour of that show was some of the funniest material I've ever heard come out of that show...I think it was the January 7th episode and I listened to it over and over it was so funny.
Dan : "Man! I'm not playing with a PICKLINE in my heart..."
Stugotz : "Ahhh...This sport is leaving soon, isn't it?"
Dan : "I'm already mourning..."
