Ok, so this is not even near confirmed, but this guy on another forum seems pretty convinced of it... We shall see.. He claims to have inside info.

Tampa only has 5 picks, so unless we got that top pick, I'd say we're looking at 2009......should a deal actually take place.
EDIT: of course players are also possible.alen1 likes this. -

Chris Simms or Phil? Phil is ok put him in the radio booth, but Chris? I'd rather have some used footballs.

Bucs Interested In Taylor

The St. Petersburg Times reports that the Dolphins and Buccaneers are engaging in talks for Miami defensive end Jason Taylor.
The Dolphins are trying to trade him, wanting to make their defense more young and get rid of Taylor’s large contract.
Tampa Bay could use a better pass rush. Kevin Carter is a solid run-stopper, but he lacks in pass-rushing ability. Also, Greg White is unhappy about his contract situation, and may not play in 2008 to become an unrestricted free agent after the season. Also, Derrick Brooks is starting to age, and is already thirty-five.
Taylor would greatly improve their pass rush. Despite being thirty-four, he still gets close to double digit sacks each year, and is a defensive leader. Adding him to Tampa Bay’s defense would make it much better and take pressure off the secondary.
However, it’s unlikely they’ll be able to get him. They’d only offer their second round pick, and the Dolphins want a first rounder for Taylor’s superb talent and character.
Then again, no one is willing to give them this, so they may choose to take a second rounder out of desperation. I doubt it’ll happen, but you never do know, and its possible that Miami lowers their demand.
So, Tampa Bay is now going after two marquee players on the block in Taylor and Lito Sheppard. Sheppard appears to be the most likely to land with the Bucs, but the Saints are also after him, so many Tampa will turn their attention to Taylor."
Thats the latest post from ign.com -
He said this yesterday and that Taylor and the Bucs were working on a contract. Okay there is a little more confirmation though no major news orgs have picked up on this...still not buying. I would be happy with the 2nd round pick.

I really don't think you guys should forget that first of all he is turning 34 this year. We were all praying and hoping for a decent second rounder for a while now and hey it looks like we may have it.
I'm surprised Jacksonville was so stupid as to not trade for him. -
listening to qam now, no news on it
-
I'm not seeing that article in the SP Times. Nothing on Tampa Tribune. Nothing so far on Tampa radio, though I'm not really listening.
I'm calling BS. -
Ugh thats not a championship contender teanm :/
-
its bs, marvez, big o, and bokamper have said zilch about this
-
i think this is bull**** i still think a trade will get done somewhere but who knows
-
Here's a link I found by a Bucs beat writer. Perhaps no BS after all.

I'll believe this when I hear it for real - this guy should be totally ripped if he's wrong.

dont understand trading up with our 3rd #2, we need all the bodies we can get
-
i really like dan connor he reminds me of zach
i hope a trade gets done another 2nd round pick would be very helpful -
Could we rape Jerry Jones a little more and maybe get one of their 1st for Taylor? He already gave us two players for a 4th. It could happen........:wink2:
-
If we get this 2nd round pick and waste it by trading back into round 1 I will be furious.

so damn I gotta stop dreaming *slaps himself*Last edited: Apr 26, 2008 -

The most interested teams -- and thus most likely to make a trade for Taylor if one happens at all -- are Philadelphia, Jacksonville, Tampa Bay, Dallas, Washington and Denver." -
ireland was on espn and he didnt sound so sure about taylor when he was asked even the guys on espn said the same thing so i think a deal is going to be in the works
